CGS CARE HOLIDAY PROGRAMME DECEMBER 2019 – JANUARY 2020 CGS Care is the out of school hours care programme at Canberra Grammar School. Managed by the School, CGS Care incorporates all before school, after school and holiday care programmes at the School’s Northside and Southside campuses from Pre-School to Year 6. Children beyond the CGS community are welcome to participate in each of the holiday programmes offered by the School. Working in partnership with families, CGS Care educators engage children actively in learning by providing a combination of indoor and outdoor activities each day. Our children are viewed as being active participants within the care programme, with their input into decisions sought. It is our children’s capacity to initiate and lead learning, and knowledge of their strengths and interests, that inform the breadth of learning opportunities on offer. Through the CGS Care programme, our children strengthen their personal and social capabilities: their independence, initiative, confidence, resilience and adaptability flourish. The programme is a very social one and yet those children needing personal space and quiet opportunities for individual play are equally catered for. Important Information for Programme Activities – What will my child(ren) be doing and what do they need to bring? Please see below for the programmed activities that have been decided upon based on feedback from children, educators and families. Additional activities always available throughout the programmes include hama beads, LEGO, Mobilo, blocks, construction, outside play, board games, card games, books, drawing materials, scooters, dress-ups, peg boards, dramatic play, blank paper, writing materials, marble maze, beading, and painting. There will be a combination of inside play and outside play, including structured group games, a variety of sporting equipment and spontaneous activities. If your child(ren) has a special interest in an activity or something that we have not covered in our programme, please approach the educators, and we will do our best to incorporate this. Except for within the ELC Holiday Programme, child(ren) are welcome to bring a bicycle, scooter and helmet in good condition on any day during the programme. Students attending the Junior School (Years 2 to 6) Holiday Programmes should also bring a towel and swimmers each day, as swimming may be on offer in the afternoons. Please bring a packed lunch, morning tea, hat and drink bottle each day. Please note that certain programmes that are operating off campus require additional permission. This permission can be given via completing the permission slip included at the end of this programme. Please return to [email protected] or to Southside Reception.

CGS CARE HOLIDAY PROGRAMME DECEMBER 2019 – JANUARY 2020CGS Care is the out of school hours care programme at Canberra Grammar School. Managed by the School, CGS Care incorporates all before school, after school and holiday care programmes at the School’s Northside and Southside campuses from Pre-School to Year 6.

Please bring a packed lunch, morning tea, hat and drink bottle each day.

Please note that certain programmes that are operating off campus require additional permission. This permission can be given via completing the permission slip included at the end of this programme. Please return to [email protected] or to Southside Reception.
