WEBSITES•A website is an assortment of web pages, that

is, credentials accessible via the World Wide

Web on the Internet. The pages of a website

will be accessed from a universal root URL, the

homepage or index page, and usually reside on

the indistinguishable substantial server.

•The URLs of the pages systematize them into a

pecking order, although the hyperlinks

between them have power over how the

reader is memorable with the overall

construction

WEB PAGEA web page is a file that is normally written in a language called HTML.

HTML stands for hypertext markup language. HTML is a scripting

language in which you can code things on the page like b for bold, and u

for underline. You can even use notepad to edit any one of these html

files. If you want to see what HTML looks like. Open your browser, go

to your favorite website, and click view source. This will show you the

HTML of your webpage. In any case, your web browser read the HTML

file and spit back a nice looking formatted webpage. When you go to a

website by typing in the URL which is basically an address to a file on a

web server.

TYPE OF WEBSITES

Corporate Web Sites:

Corporate Web Sites are shaped to acquaint with people

regarding a company services. They may be simple or

very complex with multimedia and attention-grabbing

graphics. They can be considered commercial

Informational Web Sites. Informational Web Sites used to

put in the picture about the company and its strategy.

Commercial Websites:

The sites almost always contain all of the information and features of

commerce. Commerce may be the purchase and sale of a specific product

or service by a business or organization. Commerce sites run the array

from uncomplicated sites that portray products, services, or member

benefits and invite people to contact the business or organization to full

"e-commerce sites" which allow individuals visiting the site to shop and

make acquire directly on the Web. These more refined sites will have the

ability to take your order, verify your credit card number and cash

availability and process your order for delivery almost immediately.

Informational Websites:

A Website that is anticipated to provide information that is beneficial

to visitors and the organization or business that it serves. This Website

is not considered a commercial site, although it may inspire some

commerce by desirable quality of the information enclosed in it.

Websites provides a dominant and economical way to correspond with

many people. Whether you have something to pronounce or to put on

the market, the internet allocates you to get in touch with the

individuals you want to reach without a place of money, effort or

powerful links.

Steps to Create Your Website

• Step 1: Reserve Your Domain NameYou cannot create a website without owning a domain name. It is the address and foundation of any website.

• Step 2:  Select a Web Hosting SolutionAfter you've registered your domain name, you need to select a company to host your site so you can create your web pages.  Read this article to find out how to choose the option that's best for you.

• Step 3:  Create Your Web PagesYou can either learn HTML, use an HTML editor or use the free website tools provided by your web hosting company.

Advantages of a website

• The information is available to be accessed by anyone,

anywhere, anytime.

• The site creator/author doesn’t need to be present when

someone is retrieving information

• The information within a site can be quickly accessed.

There is no need to sift through several pages.

THINGS THAT YOU CAN DO:

• Information is easy to

gather and print

selectively.

• Easy to use the

information to create

your own resource.

• Saves a trip to the library.

• You can peruse the

information at leisure

taking as much time as

needed.

• The site may provide

links to other sites on

the same topic.

Advantages

• The author can usually be contacted through an emailing address or a message board connected to the site.

• The site can be updated to always provide the latest information.

• You can look at more than one page or source at the one time by having numerous windows.

• There is no need to carry a hard copy of information with you. (No heavy book)

Disadvantages

• Information may be interpreted incorrectly or used inappropriately.

• The information on the site may not be reliable.

• A connection to the web is needed to access the information, which will be impossible if a computer and connection is not available.

• Because it is not “published” or authorized by a reputable source, the site may be disregarded as inaccurate.

• It may be difficult for researchers to locate, especially if there are many similar sites.

Disadvantages

• Site may be difficult to use if experience with the internet is limited.

• It may be difficult to reach your target audience. • Because the author is not present when others are

retrieving information there is no opportunity to ask questions or have things explained in greater detail etc.

• The site may go down or the computer may crash.

Opinion

• The websites bring together a vast array of

knowledge and thinking from many

disciplines in science in order to give you,

the reader, a full understanding of what is

happening in the natural world around you.
