Still Nokia is considered to be the most preferred product in India in termsof ease of use, reliability and resale value

OPPORTUNITY 

1. Samsung is planning to make the air-condition product category morestrong with unique technology called ‘Triple protection proposition’ 

2. Samsung Mobile and Home appliance has future plans of launchingCustomized products for Indian market. This will improve the marketshare in rural market

THREATS

1. Samsung has wide variety of product lines, failure of one product linewill have impact on the other and will result in brand dilution

2. The competitors like Nokia are focused only in one segment.

Samsung Electronics has overtaken Nokia to become the

world's largest maker of mobile phones, according to researchfirm Strategy Analytics.

Nokia took the top spot in 1998 from Motorola, but in the first

quarter of 2012 Samsung shipped 93m phones compared toalmost 83m by Nokia.

Samsung also reported its highest quarterly profit since 2008.Samsung is also the world's biggest TV and f lat screen maker.
