INTERNShIP AT isc AG

The internship is an integral part of the programme, and equips the students with application skills relevant to various situations in software product development. It bridges the gap between the professional world and the academic institutions, and enables the students to experience the rigour and regimen of a professional organization. It also provides students a platform to work and develop a professional network which will be useful to further their career prospects.

During their 2 month internship in term 3, the students will get exposure on real-world software product development, and participate in various aspects of the state-of-the-art software product engineering including:

l Requirements engineering

l Test planning and execution

l Distributed software development

l Enhanced user interface design

l Engineering for high-reliability software systems

l Interfacing with embedded systems and hardware

l Project and risk management

l Enhanced software engineering tools

The programme attendees shall spend considerable time during the course working on development environments.

Term 2 of the programme involves learning through:

– Multiple practice exercises on the Visual Studio development environment

– Working on live projects.

LAbORATORy WORk

Internship in IndiaDuring internship, the project work can be executed in India with students being part of an offshore virtual team of isc AG, Germany or partners. This will involve working with an international team on development of product modules for the NoDeX™ product line (or other equivalent products).

The students will be offered a stipend of Rs. 15,000 per month for the duration of their internship.

Internship in GermanyA limited number of international internships are available at isc AG’s offices at Essen, Germany. This 2 month internship allows students to be attached to isc AG’s core team at their office, and gain first-hand experience on software product development practices. The international internship also provides students with valuable cross-cultural experience and a closer insight into German developmental practices.

PM DIMENSIONS will facilitate visas, travel and living arrangements in Essen for selected students. The estimated additional expenses of Rs. 2.5 lakhs can also be funded through an educational loan from our financial institutions.

The programme attendees can choose to do their internship with isc AG or partner companies at the India Development Centre or at the German office.

Pm DImeNSIONS offers to place successful candidates, at the end of the programme, at its ODC with a minimum starting salary of INr 4.5 lakhs or its equivalent.

Offshore Development Centreisc aG and Pm DImeNSIONS are planning to set up an Offshore Development Centre (ODC) in India – this facility will contribute to product design, development, testing and support of the NoDex™ product line for its global customer base.

FACULTyPETER SCHMITTPeter Schmitt is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of isc AG, Essen, Germany. He has over 15 years of experience in software architecture and product line management, especially with embedded systems and high reliability systems. Besides being the lead architect of a unique software package for Non Destructive Examination called NoDeXTM and long-term practical experience in NDE, he oversees a comprehensive product line offering for NDE with focus on Ultrasonic and Eddy Current tests.

GABY SIEBURGERGaby Sieburger is a professional software engineer and a senior software architect at isc AG. She has long-term experience in Microsoft based technologies and software product management for isc AG. Her areas of interest include state-of-the-art software product management.
