Organic Certification under NPOP

• National Program on Organic Production (NPOP) under is being implemented by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry for exports under the Foreign Trade Development Regulations (FTDR) Act since October 2001.

• With the launch of National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP), the exports of organic food has grown from Rs 62 crores in (2002-2003) to Rs 2,100 crores (US$ 327 million).

farmers /producers who intend to produce organic products/engage in organic processes in accordance with the National Standards of Organic Production.
