Dr Danny Poo is a Specialist in Big Data Analytics, HealthInformatics, Software Engineering, and Information Management.
Dr Danny Poo has more than 30 years’ experience in SoftwareEngineering and has become passionate in Health Informaticsand Analytics over the last 10 years. Dr Poo is the foundingdirector of the Centre for Health Informatics at the NationalUniversity of Singapore. The Centre is the lead provider of humancapital in Health Informatics and its mission is to train healthcareand IT professionals to use Health Informatics to find newand better ways of delivering healthcare to achieve enhancedpatient care and satisfaction. The Centre also serves as a hub forHealth Informatics research and information exchange.
Dr Poo serves in the Steering Committee of the Asia PacificSoftware Engineering Conference (APSEC) since 1994 and wasthe Vice-Chairman of the APSEC Steering Committee from 2003to 2005. He was also the Chairman of the Organizing Committeeof two highly successful International Conference on Big Dataand Analytics in Healthcare in 2013 and 2014.
Dr Poo is currently a tenured Associate Professor at the NationalUniversity of Singapore. His research area includes Big DataAnalytics, Healthcare Analytics, Software Engineering andInformation Management.
Dr Poo received his Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Science andBachelor of Science (Honours) in Computation from the Universityof Manchester in 1988, 1985, 1983 respectively.
