    The Certificate III in Hairdressing has been designed as the standard entry level qualification for the hairdressing industry.

    Likely functions in the hairdressing industry for those who achieve this qualification involve employment as a hairdresserworking as part of team in a salon, performing processes that require a range of well developed skills where discretion andjudgement is required; with responsibility for own outputs, and responsibility for the supervision of others, includingApprentices.

    Functions at this level include applying skills and knowledge to sell products and services, ensuring a safe workingenvironment and performing a full range of client services, including client consultation and advice, hair and scalptreatments, haircutting, hair design, colour and lightening, and chemical reformation services on male and/or female clients.

    QualificationStudents successfully completing the coursewill receive the Nationally Accredited; WRH

    30109, Certificate III in Hairdressing.

    Admission Requirements and

    PrerequisiteApplicants must be at least 18 years or over.

    Academic Requirements

    To gain entry to this course, participants shouldhave successfully completed year 12 orsecondary studies in applicants home countryequivalent to an Australian Year 12 or Cert IVqualification.

    Mature age students will also be consideredwithout minimum education requirement but

    with relevant work experience within chosenarea of study and a demonstrated capacity tomeet course requirements. Candidates areadvised to submit relevant work experienceevidenced by work reference letter on companyletterhead; work samples; and curriculum vitae.

    English Language Requirements

    An English Language profiency level of one ofthe following:- IELTS band score of 5.5 or equivalentinternationally recognised exam result in linewith DIAC regulations;- Satisfactory completion of the ESLCourse/English language course or satisfactory

    completion of 5-10 weeks ELICOS from aNational ELT Accreditation Scheme (NEAS) Accredited English Institution with an IELTSscore of 5.0

    Course DurationThis course is offered over ONE Year or 52weeks including holidays on a full time basis

    Teaching MethodsThis program is delivered in a classroom based environment with a training salon setup forpractical components of the course. Training will be conducted in both the classroom and the salon

    environments. The delivery may include face to face teaching, lectures, discussions, workshopactivities, field trips, research; Computer based tasks,home based learning activities group works,supervised practical sessions.

    AssessmentThe assessment process will include theory and practical assessments.

    Career OpportunitiesOn successful completion of the Certificate III in Hairdresser, WRH30109; the graduates will obtainbasic skills and knowledge to to commence work as a hairdresser and It will qualify you to treat,cut, colour and style hair, coordinate a salon team and sell salon products and services.
