Basic & Social Science experts will discuss unique challenges of research in their diverse disciplines & the complexity of conducting research in global settings. Sessions will include a dialogue between disciplinary experts on the similarities & differences in their adaptation of methodology in the conduct of culturally sensitive global research. A novel feature of this educational experience will be an extensive discussion & focus on the cultural and ethical challenges of conducting research in resource-poor settings. Students may choose to focus on Basic Sciences or Clinical/Behavioral/Social Sciences in this course. The two week workshop will be followed by a presentation of ideas developed through group work.

You will have the experience of working with US & Indian faculty experts from a premier Institute to understand the health challenges of a fast globalizing traditional culture & community. You will glimpse the juxtaposition of tradition & progress that characterizes much of the new global world manifested in one of India's best tourist places. Why Global Health? Global Health focuses on the international aspects of disease transmission, diagnosis, treatment, policy, and prevention. It looks at health in a broader perspective.
Who can attend? Students and graduates from Biological Sciences, Public health, Economics, Social Sciences, Medical professionals, Healthcare managers, Community health workers, Clinicians, Lawyers, Researchers and Government employees.
