Automotive Technology T-TEN

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES The Toyota T-TEN program provides students with a career path and training as a Toyota or Lexus certified technician. All students will complete an internship at a Toyota or Lexus dealer while completing the T-TEN program. The courses completed will give students both credit at the college, and credit in the Toyota system (which allows work to be performed at the dealership).

REQUIREMENTS This program is not open entry/open exit. Students wishing to join T-TEN will need to complete AT109 in the summer and be a top performer to become a 2-year cohort member. Applicants must complete a T-TEN application after contacting Michael Klyde. Applicants must have an employable driving record, be legally eligible to work in the US, pass an employment backgroud check, and successfully pass an employer administered drug test. Additionally students will need to pass a minimum of 2 ASE’s and work in a Toyota or Lexus dealer as an intern for a minimum of 640 hours. CERTIFICATETo earn the certificate, complete the required courses as listed with a minimum grade of “C.” Completing each semester will result in a certificate in the area of study, and upon completion of the 2-year program, the Automotive T-TEN Toyota and Lexus Specialist Certificate will be earned.

DEGREEAS Degree in Automotive TechnologyThe Associates in Science degree is an optional part of T-TEN, but recommended for students interested in career growth opportunities. These opportunities include dealer management, a career path at Toyota Motors North America as a Field Technical Specialist or Field Service Trainer, or a career path as an automotive technology instructor.
