The Romanian National Computer Security Incident Response Team CERT-RO is an independent structure providing expertise and conducting research and development activities for the protection of Romanian Cyber Space.
CERT-RO is the single national contact point with other CERT structures from institutions, public authorities or le-gal entities, be them public or private, national or inter-national, whilst respecting the attributes specific to other authorities or public institutions. CERT-RO operates a Web portal dedicated to cyber security where news, alerts and advice are published.

Main ActivitiesThe institution has as a primary task to prevent, analyze and respond to cyber security
incidents occurred in Romanian cyber space. It also collects and processes multiple
source feeds regarding IPs or URLs from Romania detected as being involved in cyber
security incidents based on which CERT-RO operates an early-warning system. The
incidents are recorded through a centralized database for processed alerts. Moreover,
the team monitors and reports vulnerabilities on different types of technologies.
CERT-RO performs cyber security audits for public institutions upon request and offers
support in solving cyber security incidents.
CERT-RO has already built a network for
cooperation with its partners from the private and
public sectors. Our aim is to enlarge this circle of
trust for a safer Romanian cyberspace.

The Romanian Computer Incident Response Team (CERT-RO) is pleased to announce the VIII edition of the Annual International Conference „The New Global Challenges in Cyber Security” that will take place between the 15th and 17th of October in Bucharest, Romania. This year the event has a new flagship partner: the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). As always, we will tap into The New Global Challenges in Cyber Security together with experts from European and International institutions and leading cyber security companies. We will have a closed CERT/CSIRT session on the 15th morning and welcome dinner in the same day evening, and other two full days of presentations, talks and networking opportunities on the 16th and 17th of October. The topics for this year range from policy developments at European and International level, capacity building tools and initiatives, to the implementation of new technologies in the cyber security field, as well as insights in the global threat landscape.
