CERTA - Continuing Education, Resources & Training Association is a non-profit

organization which aims to promote non-formal education in all its forms and means of

expression, to organize training courses, qualification & specialization trainings, to

develop and implement educational projects financed by EU funds, to identify sources

of funding and to offer consultancy for other organizations in the field of youth and adult

education.

Our goals

CERTA has as main goals to promote European cooperation in the field of

education and professional development, encouraging the lifelong learning process,

based on non-formal/informal education, supporting the development of knowledge,

skills and abilities necessary for the development of active citizenship behavior, social

inclusion and professional insertion.

CERTA is continuously improving its educational offer, promoting the international

cooperation through partnerships, the exchange of ideas and good practices,

experiences and information, testing and implementing new pedagogical approaches,

develop the skills and competencies necessary to transfer, apply and combine the

knowledge and skills needed to print a European dimension of the educational process.

Our objectivesCERTA’s objectives in terms of European cooperation are to:

1. Encourage mobility of trainers and trainees, supporting continuing education to

improve the quality of educational services;

2. Create of educational resources and tools targeted to develop our capacity to

promote development and global citizenship education at the national, regional and

European level;3. Promote transnational cooperation in vocational education and training;

4. Develop communication and linguistic skills, intercultural, social and ICT

aptitudes of trainers and trainees involved in European cooperation activities;

5. Promote volunteering among young people, making them aware of the benefits

of volunteering and encouraging them to participate in volunteer activities within partner

organizations in Europe.

Our projects

Our team is formed by teachers/former teachers with a significant experience in

teaching/training and project management.

Between 2008-2014, CERTA members implemented 4 Comenius Projects

(bilateral and multilateral): Effects of Climate Change on our Regions. Regional

Strategies of Climate Protection (2008-2010); Dilemmas (2010-2012), Alter Egos (2011-

2013), TRAIL. Teaching Resources Allowing Interactive Learning (2012-2014);

1 Leonardo - VET: EuroPas decisiv spre cariera ta! (2013-2014); 1 Youth in Action:

Cultures’ meeting around campfire! (2008).

In 2012, CERTA participated as partner in the local project The network of mini-guides, implemented in partnership with Tulcea Mayor's Office, what has as main aim to

promote the local tourism through a network of voluntary mini-guides. The project was

coordinated by “Etnopolis”, an association promoting multiculturalism and social

dialogue, in partnership with local/regional authorities, entrepreneurs, tourism services

providers, being financed with a grant awarded by the Romanian govern. The project

was a success, one of most appreciated initiatives in the field of youth non-formal

education.

Our courses

CERTA has a rich experience in organizing training courses for young people and

adults. In 2012, we proposed the first two courses for youth and adults: "Interpersonal

communication", having as main objective the development of the communication skills;

"Intercultural communication", which aims to develop social responsibility, solidarity and

respect in everyday conduct.

The courses "Citizens vs. Power" and "Totalitarianism vs. Human rights" aim to

promote education for democracy and active citizenship, fostering youth respect for

human rights, encouraging their participation in social life in a democratic society.

Since 2013, were have organized 3 other courses: "Project management","Entrepreneurial education" and "E -learning techniques assisted by computer".

Another important objective of our training courses is to develop communication

skills in a foreign language. Our trainers, language teachers, propose 4 courses:

Business English, Conversational English, Basic French and Conversational Spanish.

CERTA is also interested in developing a strategy for implementing European

Partnership projects in education and training, which address to the training needs of

our staff and youth/adult learners.

our teamMihai is the General Manager of CERTA, European Programs and Adult

Education departments coordinator. History teacher (1st degree), Master in Community

Law and European Institutions, post-graduate studies in Project Management, Mihai

graduated various training courses, both home and abroad, on intercultural education,

education for democracy and human rights, history and archaeology, educational

methods and strategies, management, leadership. Within "Henri Coanda" TechnicalCollege Tulcea, Mihai coordinated 6 European school partnerships, Comenius,

Leonardo da Vinci and Youth in Action (2008-2014). Since 2012, Mihai teaches the

courses Intercultural communication, Citizens vs. Power and Totalitarianism vs. Human

Rights, addressed to youth and adults learners.

Irina graduated the Faculty of Letters, master in Community Law and EuropeanInstitutions, Romanian language teacher (1st degree), specialized in education of youth

and adults (Trainer, Mentor certificates), project management (postgraduate) and

communication.

Irina participated in the implementation of projects aimed to promote intercultural

education, training guides in tourism, increase employment for the unemployed, inactive

people and people in search of work. Irina is one of the founding members of CERTA,

dealing with project management and training programs for young people, also teaches

the Interpersonal Communication course for adults.

Doina - engineer, 1st degree didactical rank, principal (2005 - 2013) and viceprincipal (1995-2001) of "Henri Coanda" Technical College Tulcea, MA in Sustainable

Development, Auditor in quality. With an experience of over 20 years in teaching, Doina

graduated numerous training courses including: Education Management (postgraduate),

Management and finances, Curriculum development experts, AEL, ECDL, Project

Management. Within CERTA, Doina coordinates the studies department (Director of

Studies), the vocational training department (VET) and teaches two courses for youth

and adults, “Project management” and “Entrepreneurial Education”.

Gabriela, physicist, 1st degree teacher, member of the National Body of Expertsin Educational Management, responsible for the curricular area "Mathematics and

Natural Sciences" within “Anghel Saligny” College Tulcea. During the past years,

Gabriela attended numerous training courses: Project Management, Trainer, Mentor,

Electricity. European course/ITEMS. At CERTA, Gabriela is Manager of Operations,

coordinating all the logistics/organization activities, responsible for the volunteer

department and trainer in adult education.

Simona is a graduate of the Faculty of Letters, "Dunarea de Jos" GalatiUniversity, has an MA in Anglo- American Studies at “Ovidius” Constanta University.

Simona has 5 years experience in education as a teacher of English, and she was part

of the team of teachers in the National Program "Second chance" for disadvantaged

groups - prisoners, teaching an English course for adults organized by Tulcea

Penitentiary (2008 - 2010). At CERTA, Simona teaches two courses for adults:

Business English and Conversational English.
