The recycle relay

and the timeline!

One of the activities was the Recycling relay. We had to split into 2 teams.

Each team had a bin full of things that you can

through away, recycle or put in the compost.

Another activity was the timeline on how long it takes for something to

break down. The first item to break down was a

newspaper. The last item to breakdown was the

glass bottle. Some of the other items were a cotton T-shirt, cardboard milk

carton, dishwashing liquid bottle and a plastic bag.

The Merri Merri Creek!

When we were at C.E.R.E.S we went out to the Merri Merri Creek. Our tour guide told us that the Merri Merri Creek is about 50km long. He also said that in about a 6km stretch they found 20 cars and there is still a tyre in the Merri Merri Creek. We had a great time walking along the track. Our tour guide showed us heaps of pictures of different animals that used to come to the Merri Merri Creek, but they went away because it became very dirty.

This is the vegie garden. CERES grows their ownorganic fruit and veg to be sold at their own market. All of the scraps go to the chickens and worms so none of the food is wasted.
