  There are 68 Children in the custody of Centre County, living with either foster families or in residential facilities, often due to circumstances involving abuse or neglect There are 62 foster families. Eight of those are willing to take teenage children. Of the 68 children in custody, 50 are under age 13, 18 are over age 13. Of the children, 13 aren’t able to reside here because there are not enough homes for them here. Over a 3 year period, there were 44 children who “aged out” of the system, without a forever family.
