Restaurants can now have indoor seating not to full capacity, but we are getting there. The restaurant we have our gatherings at does not have enough room in the room we meet in for us to be able to social distance from each other. We are going to try something different in July for Chapter Z’s gather- ing. We are going to meet at Black Partridge Park in Meta- mora. We have reserved the pavilion there. We will meet at 5 for dinner. Please bring your own picnic dinner and we will have the gathering at 6. We will provide water for anyone that would like it. We will not be doing the travel- ing trophy yet because not all chapters are meeting for gatherings. I would like to invite all chapters to still come and visit us for our gathering as it would be great to see everyone. If this works out well, we will be doing this until we can work something out with the restaurant or until it gets to cold to meet in the park. The address for the park 821 Coal Bank Road in Metamora Illinois 61548. The date for our gathering in case anyone has for- gotten is July 26th, hope to see you all there. We will have plenty of room but you might want to bring lawn chairs just in case we have a massive turn out. Well, another month has gone by and I hope everyone is doing well. I know some ofyou ave been out riding and enjoying the good weather. Just remember to be safe.Hope all the dads out there had a nice Fathers Day. Almost all of our family was here for acookout and to celebrate the birthdays we missed due to covid19. We all needed to be togetherafter all this time.Looks like our calendar will be empty for awhile longer. Can not believe we have not seenmost of you since the February gathering. Will we have to introduce ourselves to each otherwhen we do get back together?

HAHA.

2020 Couple of the YearTired of this COVID-19 quarantine and all its restrictions? We are too. We miss all the

fun gatherings and group rides. We’re disappointed that the rallies we were planning to at-tend have been cancelled. Tough decisions had to be made by our government leaders. Sub-sequently, tough decisions had to be made by our GWRRA national, district and chapterleaders. All grumblings aside (and there’s been plenty of it on our part), these decisions havekept us safer. We’re seeing now that states that lifted restrictions early are seeing their infec-tion numbers go up.

So…what to do? Restrictions are being reduced. (It was nice to get a haircut, andneeded!). We can now gather in larger groups. Our chapter leaders are now planning chaptergatherings and events. We’ll still need to practice “social distancing”. But, hey, things arelooking better! So, hang in there. We still have a long way to go to get through this pan-demic, but hang in there and try to stay positive. If you feel the urge to “vent”, give one of usa call. We’ll listen. We care about all of you…and miss seeing you in person. If you feelcomfortable doing so, we’d love to see you at our upcoming gatherings!

Well things are finally starting to open up a little! Weare going back to our Ice cream rides on the second and forthThursday of the month, so keep a look out for info on those.We felt this would be the best way to ease into getting back to-gether. In the future we will start to look at dinner rides. The-ses will take a little more planning. Indoor seating will belimited so will probably need to make reservations. July 19thwe are planning a MAP ride. Details are being worked out,but this probably be a half day ride. Of course, we will bepracticing good social distancing to keep everyone safe. if youare still not comfortable in groups that’s ok, we understand.Some will wear masks and other will not and that’s ok too.The main thing is that we are smart about this as we get backtogether and back to a new normal. Debbie is working onarrangements for the July Gathering and I’m sure she will beputting what she knows so far in her the Directors article. It isso great to finally be able to get back together and ride. I knowwe are all looking forward to hanging out with each otheragain. Keep an eye out on our facebook page, web page andnow Group works for updates on what is going on.

Hello everyone!Well, we have experienced living in the Twilight Zone for a few months and have survived sheltering in

place and wearing masks while practicing social distancing. It’s not my “cup of tea” (Julie speaking) as I am a verysocial person. But I have been on a lot of Zoom calls with our chapter and with other chapters too. Finally our statewill be “open for business” but still not quite back to normal. Hopefully this finds all of you safe, healthy andhappy.

John and I have done some motorcycle riding, mostly on our own. We have visited 9 MAP sites (none ofwhich were open) and have gone on a couple rides with friends. We rode to Lake Argyle State Park near MacombIL where a few of us enjoyed a picnic lunch. Argyle Lake had been partially drained but there were folks fishingfrom the lake. It was during the week so those of us that went were retired. We have had some great weather herein central Illinois so we are looking forward to more group rides with more of our Chapter Z friends.

John and I will be going on a car trip out West so we can relax and get away for a while. We both love themountains and wildlife and the laid-back atmosphere of the people.

Julie just came home from a dinner with friends from work and we dined outdoors on a perfect weathernight. Great Mexican food!!
