Heads of teaching Departments/Centres. v. 10 Professors (excluding those who are Deans of Schools of Studies & Heads of the Departments / Centres) on the basis of seniority and rotation to be nominated by Vice Chancellor giving due regard to representation of different Schools. vi. Five Associate Professors who are not Head of Teaching Department by rotation according to seniority to be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor. vii. 10. Student feedback mechanism on Institutional Governance/faculty performance:

1. Every Semester the feedback from students with regard to the faculty performance is collected. The suggestions for improvement in performance are communicated to the faculty members.

2. Every faculty member will submit staff self-appraisal by the end of every academic year duly forwarded by to the Administration.

11. Grievance redressal mechanism for faculty, staff and students:

As per Ordinance-28 "Employees and Students’ Grievances Redressal Committee" (Section 28(n) of the Act) There shall be constituted a Mechanism for the redressal of the grievances of Employees and Students of the University.

Unless otherwise mentioned: Student means all students who are registered for a Programme of study in any School / Centre / Department / College or Campus maintained by the University. Employee means any person appointed by the University and includes teachers and other staff of the University. The Grievances Committee shall observe the following general principles: 1. The Campus Community should be made fully aware of the grievance redressal

mechanism; 2. Every grievance from the student/staff should be registered and acknowledged; 3. If a final decision is not possible within a fortnight, an acknowledgement should be

sent to the applicant along with an indication as to when he/she can expect a final reply;

4. As a matter of general rule no grievances should be pending beyond the limit of three months;

5. The officer nominated by the Vice Chancellor and the person responsible for addressing grievances should make himself/herself freely available to hear the grievances personally, at least once a week at fixed timings; and

6. He/she will take decisions on grievances which are pending for more than three months. Aggrieved parties who are not satisfied with redressal in subordinate/attached formation can approach the Vice Chancellor for a decision.

(A) STUDENTS GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL COMMITTEE Chairman – The Pro Vice-Chancellor or such other person to be nominated by the Vice- Chancellor. (B) TEACHERS’ GRIEVANCES COMMITTEE

There shall be constituted a Committee by the Executive Council consisting of the following:

Vice Chancellor’s nominee shall be the Secretary to the Committee.

New Computer Labs and Network lab were established with 35 systems in January 2012 and for power backup UPS with the capacity of 20KW also purchased for the department

Prof. (Dr.) Madhavi Sinha delivered lecture on Scope of AI in Research to the students of M. Tech. Computer Science & Engineering and M. Sc. Computer Science on December 24th 2011.

Shivaji University has signed an MoU with Infosys BPO Limited, Bangalore on 15th May, 2007. The MoU was signed by Mrs. Sudha Murthy on behalf of Infosys. It is mainly focussed on enhancing quality of educational skills and expertise of our students in order to improve their employment opportunities in all disciplines. It also concentrates on improving quality of graduates from placement point of view.

Under this MoU 400 teachers from all affiliated colleges of Shivaji University, Kolhapur attended Training Programme held at Infosys Training Institute, Mysore in second and third week of June, 2006. These trained teachers will provide training to students in their respective colleges after which job fairs will be held at Colleges by Infosys and other IT firms.

This MoU prove to be a milestone in the history of Shivaji University as far as employment opportunities that will be created through it in the fast growing BPO and other IT related sector.

To enhance the job potentiality of the students of the University, An MOU is signed between the Central University of Rajasthan and A3 Logics, Jaipur. The agreement marks the formal commitment of both institutions to explore practical approaches to creating mutually beneficial relationship in order to make the students of the University placed.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Central University of Rajasthan and Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC), Bangalore during 2009-10. Both the institutions shall collaborate in academic events and research. The other following MoUs have been entered into, during the session 2010-12.

The Central University of Rajasthan has signed a MoU with UGC Inflibnet Consortium, Ahmedabad on 13 Sep 2010. Under this MoU the University has an access to more than 3000 journals and other e-material available on the consortium.

Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Department of Management, Central University of Rajasthan and Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad on 7 February 2011. Both the institutions shall collaborate in academic events, placement and research. Faculty exchange and student exchange were also the highlights of the agreement.

Memorandum of Understanding with GENPACT for Summer Internship and Placements Bank of India has been finalized as Banker of the University.Bank of India has agreed to:

To provide a central computing facility with Network Server for all the students and staff of the University, Central University of Rajasthan has established 4 independent Computer Labs. Inter University Cultural Festivals Students are also encouraged to participate in inter university cultural fests. In year 2010 and 2011, students have performed in various literary and cultural events in National and West Zone Youth Festival Gwalior organized from 26th Nov to 1st Dec 2010.

International Youth Festival Bani-Thani organized in Jan 2011, Students have won awards in Fashion Show, Debate Competition, Dum-Charades, Dance, Mime and Alpana competitions at Bani-Thani international Youth Festival organized at M.D.S. University Ajmer. National debate competition at Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh organized in April 2011.

Sports activities: Sports tournament 2012 was organized during 1st April to 14th April 2012. The sports facilities at the club include Cricket, Badminton, Table Tennis, Volley Ball etc. for the students of the University.

Magazine / Newsletter:

E-curaj

During the session 2010-2011, to enable a quick access and for exchange of news and ideas Central University of Rajasthan began its e-bulletin entitled e-curaj in which the students and the staff of all the eight varied disciplines of the University contribute. It showcases our academic activities, creative skills and a sensitive understanding of our multicultural surroundings. In the present scenario interdisciplinary exchange has become imperative in the field of higher education and the bulletin proposes to serve the basic need to satisfy our intellectual curiosity and provide us the opportunity for deliberations on issues of common interest. The bulletin is available on the university website and is open for suggestions so as to enable us to bring constant improvement in our endeavors.

Students’ Newsletter “Astitva”

In the year 2010-11, the students of the University started a monthly university e-newsletter, ASTITVA. Till date 2 Volumes and 5 issues have been published. As the name suggests it is an effort in building awareness and knowledge of our existence. When we mention ‘our’ here, it really means the ‘community of the university’. This includes everybody from the Vice Chancellor to the faculty to the students. Astitva is also bilingual, it has both Hindi and English articles and comprises mainly of student write-ups. The hard copy of the monthly Newsletter is displayed on the Notice Board, besides keeping a copy in the library. Astitva is the student-run university media group of the Central University of Rajasthan. The Astitva magazine is run entirely by the students with contributions coming from the students themselves. The newsletter is an expression of the creative writing skills of the students of all disciplines. It also enables them to do team work and to give expression to their voice, ideas and beliefs.

Literary activities: In literary events students take part in debate, extempore, just in time, and Group discussions. Annual magazine is published (bilingual) every year. The College annual magazine provides an opportunity to the students to express their latent talents. It also provides an insight about various activities of the college. Technical activities: Technical paper presentation on recent trends in Science & Technology is held on according time to time. Like an Online Intra-University quiz competition was organized on 29th March 2012 by Departmental Lab of Department of Computer Science & Engineering.

Industrial Visits / Tours: Industrial Tour is conducted by respective departments every year.

(i) for MBA students One day visit to Tilonia Village on 24th February, 2012 and one day visit to RSWM Gulabpura on 4th April, 2012. (ii) for M.Arch students A field visit to Sewage Treatment Plant, Jaipur, on 12th March 2012. A field visit to Geological Museum, Department of Mines and Minerals, Ajmer, on 20th September 2011.
