DGM Low-Temperature Plasma sterilisers provide an efficient sterilisation solution for heat and moisture sensitive medical equipment in CSSDs, Hospitals, Veterinary Practices and Gastroenterology Endoscopy Clinics.

DGM Z is used to sterilise medical equipment and instruments made of heat-sensitive materials: products of synthetic and polymer materials, medical optical systems, medical electric instruments and electrical power cables, rigid endoscopes, ultrasonic medical devices, sensors, medical devices including ultrasound devices, medical implants and tools for their installation, etc. They are available as a 40L bench top model, or 150L and 200L free standing units.

With the release of the AS/NZS 4187:2014 standard, Australian day surgeries and hospitals will be required to comply with a range of new requirements for reprocessing reusable medical devices (RMD’s) by December 2021. A particular point of interest within the standard is Section 7.2.3 and Table 7.2 – Water Quality Used for Reprocessing RMDs. This section states that water supplied to the reprocessing facility, such as a Central Sterile Supply Department, shall be of a suitable quality for its intended purpose.

Essentially, to achieve the water quality specified in Table 7.2 the local water supply needs to be treated through a water purification system. Reverse osmosis filters are extremely efficient and effective for the removal of microorganisms and most residual chemicals from water. In addition to variables such as cost effectiveness, ease of installation, functionality, and footprint, reverse osmosis is by far the most ideal water purification method to assist in complying with the new standard.

The Uniflow Multi-Pure Series RO Systems provide a pressurised sterile water supply for washer disinfector systems. These systems require low volume water supply and offer simple, low-maintenance operation for applications requiring compliance to AZ/NZS 4187:2014.
