10 HSR&P STUDENTS including 5 FIRST YEAR STUDENTS were supported in 2016 by an AHRQ T32 NRSA training grant program (the CHSOR Director is principal investigator). The Ph.D. program prepares health services researchers in patient safety, quality of care, financing and organization of health services, and reducing disparities.

The most in�uential journals where our faculty published in 2016 were: Journal of General Internal Medicine, Value in Health, Annals of Internal Medicine, Journal for Healthcare Quality, Health A�airs, Medical Care, BMJ Quality & Safety, American Journal of Public Health (AJPH), Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association, Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), and New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM).
Our faculty engaged the scienti�c community at major conferences held by: AcademyHealth, AARP Public Policy Institute, American Society of Health Economists, American Society of Clinical Oncology, International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR), Orthopaedic Trauma Association, Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM), Society for Medical Decision Making, and TEDx.
7 of our faculty have been recognized by students for their teaching excellence in 5 School of Public Health courses. The school’s faculty recognized 2 CHSOR members with an Advising, Mentoring, Teaching Recognition Award and the Ernest Lyman Stebbins Medal for outstanding contributions to the school's teaching programs.
A 2016 graduate of HSR&P, advised by CHSOR faculty, is now a Research Public Health Analyst at RTI International.
We encourage our research sta� to pursue educational opportunities while supporting the Center’s research programs. In 2016, 10 attended or graduated from doctoral programs, 10 master’s programs, and 6 post-doctoral programs.
