What is FuseCR?
FuseCR is a collaborative initiative designed to ignite a new synergy
between UNCW and the field of clinical research.
By fusing resources and knowledge from academia and industry,
FuseCR is energizing local clinical research talent
with powerful career and industry enhancing services.

u Be mindful that the application system will time out
u Complete your answers in a Word document and then copy and paste into the application
u APPLICATIONS ARE DUE: October 6
What’s next?
u Selected candidates will be invited via email to the “Meet the Mentors” Event on October 21 from 5:30-7:30 in FuseCR
u Prior to the event you will be able to review LinkedIn profiles of available mentors online
u Print business cards for the eventu iPrint Business Center in Randal Library: 10 card sheet
for $1.20
“Meet the Mentors” Event
u Dress for success
u Bring and hand out your business cards
u Indicate your preferred mentors on the preference card provided at event
After Event
u MentorCR Team will match students with mentors
u Preference is given to the student’s mentor selection when possible
u Students and Mentors are informed via email of their pairing, and sent a blank mentorship agreement to complete at first meeting
u Students are expected to contact their assigned Mentor within one week to schedule the first meeting
u Meet with your mentor 2-3 times per month
Mentorship Program
u Always meet your Mentor in a public location
u Library, coffee shop, restaurant, FuseCR, etc.
u MentorCR ends at the end of spring 2019
u Promptly report any problems with the mentoring relationship to [email protected] or Tiffany Erichsen
Mentorship Agreement (MA)
u The MA is not a contract, it is a conversation starteru Use the MA during your first meeting to frame the discussion about
expectations
u The MA should list the experiences and outcomes that the student wants to achieve from the mentorship
u Examples:u Work together to Prepare a high quality resume and a polished LinkedIn account
u Complete 3 mock interviews with hiring officials in my mentor’s network
u Complete 3 informational interviews across 3 different areas of clinical research
u Follow the expectations outlined in the Mentorship Agreement
