Sundial dials backLate last month, shares of Sundial

Growers Inc. took a hit ‘amid yet another cannabis C-suite shakeup’. The company announced the departure of its CEO and COO, as well as a cost-cutting program. Shares had dropped 14% so far in 2020.

The cost-cutting comes as a response to slower-than-expected rollouts of new cannabis stores in Canada. Sundial is ‘aiming to realign its product lines and improve efficiency’.

The company’s reputation has been built on growing ‘craft-at-scale’ canna-bis, along with its modular facilities and award-winning genetics. A new facility is in the works in Merritt. The company’s flagship production facility is in Olds, AB, with a second facility in Rocky View, AB, where staff has been reduced by 10% as a result of the recent cut-backs.

“We are doing this partially in re-sponse to challenging industry con-ditions, largely because of regulatory delays that have resulted in fewer than anticipated stores across the country,” the company said.

Jurassic World 3 filming in Merritt

Jurassic World 3 will be filming in Mer-ritt between Feb. 25 and March 6.

According to a casting call, they’re looking for people to play “dinosaur food,” i.e. mill workers, fishermen and townsfolk. “Anyone, male or female, be-tween the agest of 25 and 65 can apply,” reads the post.

Applicants must have reliable trans-port and must be available for 1 to 2 days.

Jurrasic World stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Isabella Sermon and Laura Dern, to name a few. The third installment of the trilogy is the sequel to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
