Celebration of Worship Pentecost Sunday

Welcome! We are honored that you have chosen to worship with us today. We pray that God blesses you with His presence as you have blessed us with yours. You may light a candle in supplication for yourself, your loved ones, or for a concern you have in your community or the world. You may do so before the service or during the prelude, hymns, or offertory.

*Prelude Sweet Sweet Spirit Bell Choir

*Welcome and Greeting Rev. John R. Rech *Indicates congregation standing as able

*Hymn of Praise My Lord What A Morning Bell Choir

*Confession of the Word Acts 2 (selected verses) Leader: When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. People: Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven

and filled the whole house where they were sitting.

Leader: They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.

People: All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Leader: Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd saying this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

People: “In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

Leader: Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.

All: And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

*Chorus Spirit of the Living God Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me. Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me. Melt me, mold me, fill me, use me. Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
