War of the PlaywrightsThe year is 1590 and the Shire of Mount Hope is having a celebration of theater, art, music and dance! The call for a wondrous celebration has gone out and has attracted a wide group of characters including William Shakespeare and Her Majesty's very own acting company, the Queen's Men.

Not to be outdone however is Shakespeare's archrival, Christopher Marlowe. Charming, brilliant and extremely outspoken, Marlowe and his Admiral's Men are on the scene to vie for their place in the hierarchy.

Unfortunately, Plague is running rampant throughout London and the theaters are being shut down—the main architect of this crackdown being Sir Robert Cecil, Secretary of State to the Queen.

For the love of theater and the arts, the Queen has commanded that today shall be a contest of dramatic proportions between Her beloved Shakespeare and Marlowe. The very nature of art, theater and more is at stake!
