PRINCIPAL’S POINT

All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but

motives are weighed by the LORD. Commit

to the LORD whatever you do, and he will

establish your plans. Proverbs 16:2-3

As we begin 2014, let’s be reminded of

these six things we will all need.

1. We need to pray. Until we get to heaven, there will always be

the need for communication with God.

2. We need to trust God. God does not want us to be worried or

fearful about what is ahead. We need to

trust Him to give us what we need when we

need it.

3. We need to obey. God will always supply the talent, the time,

and the opportunity to do what He has asked

us to do.

4. We need to forgive. Forgiveness is an attitude of the heart and a

choice of the will that you must walk in

each day. We mustn’t carry hurt, bitterness,

or anger in our hearts.

5. We need to be faithful. We must be people who follow through.

Our friends should consider us trustworthy.

We need to be faithful in the small things,

so that we can be trusted in the big things.

6. We need to be in a daily relationship

with Jesus. Every day, in every moment, through every

circumstance of 2014, we will need Jesus.

JOY RINGERS GO TO DISNEY

In addition to their performances nearby, the Joy Ringers, our middle

school handbell choir, had a Christmas performance at Downtown Disney.

They spent three days in Orlando visiting Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and

Animal Kingdom.

The Sixth Annual Jog-A-Thon will take place on Friday, January 31st. We need your help for this event to take place. Please consider volunteering on the day of the event. This will be a “super-fun” day for all students and families at LPBS!

Volunteer forms will be coming home soon, or you can contact Lisa Smith at [email protected].

Many of you donated a new toy to Urban Youth Impact to be used in their annual Christmas Store. The ministry reports that 1,800+ children in 600 families received gifts for Christmas. They dispersed over 10,000 toys and gifts into the community. You never know what blessings can come from a simple gift.

The LPBS Elementary soccer team defeated Summit with a score of 5-0 in the first playoff game. There were goals from Kenny Ramos, Steven Kijanka, and Gavan Keen. James Merilien and Joshua MacNeal were the goalies.

They beat Trinity Christian with a score of 2-1 on penalty kicks in an amazingly hard-fought semi-final game. Kenny Ramos scored in regulation, and Joshua MacNeal, Steven Kijanka, and Kayla Thompson scored penalty kicks. Joshua MacNeal defended the goal.

They lost the championship game with a score of 2-0 against a very strong Wellington Christian team. Our players got high praise from the Wellington coach/athletic director. Our LPBS team received the runner-up trophy. They finished with a record of five wins and 4 losses.
