Conveyance• First three minutes of class time and last three minutes of class time

In a study by Allday and Pakurar (2007) measured teacher greetings on middle school students and found an increase in on-task behavior from 45% to 72% when teachers greeted students at the door at the beginning of the hour.

SmileEvery time you smile it is the equivalent of 1 bar of high quality chocolate.

When you smile at someone, it engages mirror neurons- much like when someone yawns. It is almost impossible to not smile back when someone smiles at you.

Researchers found the size of your smile not only dictates how successful you will be, it predicts how long you will live.

Push pencil the rest of the way through. Push pencil on right side of the box holes all the way through. Pull adding machine tape up through left slit and over an down through right slit. Tape adding machine tape onto right side pencil. Close box lid and duct tape the lid to the box. Tighten up the tape. Make your own scratch-off prizes

Two parts model paint to one part dishwashing detergent. Here’s my suggestion- On tag board make your bubble letters and then write a prize in each bubble letter. Laminate the tag board. Then paint over the laminated letters. This way you can reuse it year after year. Otherwise, the student will scratch too hard and you won’t be able to use it again.

Label Noodles “A” and “B” – put prizes on board for “A” and “B” and then choose two students to start marbles on command. Class gets prize of whichever marble makes it first.

Patience is not a virtue.

• It is a choice! (Riffel, 1978-2014)–I aspire to be more

patient with the students today.
