Since 1945, FCCLA has been “leading the way” by cultivating youth to become leaders within their families, careers, and communities across America through Family and Consumer Sciences education. In 2020, FCCLA will mark its 75th anniversary with a celebration of leadership. At this time, we look back with pride at our growth and achievement, and look ahead to the future – to the leaders of tomorrow. To help celebrate its 75th anniversary, FCCLA is launching a Leadership Hall of Fame to recognize and honor former and current FCCLA/FHA HERO members, advisers, and supporters who: Have achieved success in their chosen professions Contributed significantly to their communities Helped FCCLA reach its goals These members, advisers, and supporters honored in the FCCLA Leadership Hall of Fame, have utilized their skills to become successful leaders within their family, careers, and communities within various industries. Nominate Leaders Anyone may nominate individuals for induction into the Leadership Hall of Fame. Nominees will first be verified by each state and then advance to the National Selection Committee for consideration to be inducted into the National Leadership Hall of Fame. Honorees will be recognized at the 2020 National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. at the Red Tie Awards Dinner on July 6, 2020.

Leadership Hall of Fame members are positive role models. They inspire today’s youth to reach high and realize their full potential!

In searching for candidates for the Leadership Hall of Fame, look for former FCCLA/FHA HERO members who have taken the lead with:

• Became involved in issues affecting families, committees, and global cooperation

• Participated in community service and civic leadership

• Became successful leaders in business and industry, education, public service, professional development, arts and entertainment, athletics, and child care

• Encouraged interest in Family and Consumer Sciences occupations

• Strengthened the family unit• Promoted awareness of

multiple roles of men and women in today’s society

• Promoted communication and understanding between youth and adults

• Balanced families and careers

Join the fun. Begin your search for nominees from your home state to be inducted into the Leadership Hall of Fame. Here’s how:• Talk to former teachers and administrators• Check chapter historical files• Look through school newspapers and

yearbooks• Check the periodical files in your library • Contact alumni and associate members

A Leadership Hall of Fame nomination form is located at: www.surveymonkey.com/r/FCCLAHallOfFame2020. Complete the nomination form and provide a brief bio and picture of the nominee as part of the nomination process. The nomination form deadline is December 13, 2019.

The FCCLA Leadership Hall of Fame not only focuses on the national organization, but also gives your chapter a unique opportunity to highlight your chapter’s achievements. By honoring Leadership Hall of Fame members at the local, state and national levels, you will:• Gain visibility for your Family and Consumer

Sciences program and FCCLA chapter• Attract new members• Increase involvement of former FCCLA

members in your current activities• Stimulate interest in FCCLA programs• Have an opportunity to network within your
