In these stuff times of social distancing and isolation; it's nice to have a shop full of power tools and wood. I just bought some rough sawn oak and walnut from Kevin in Gilbertville. Steve Crouse and Dave Turner our helping me slice it into thinner sheets. Thanks guys for your help. That's the nice thing about our organization; helping and working with each other, making friends and laughing together. Sharing our woodworking with each other is so much better than doing it alone. The following is a note I put with all my woodworking gifts. It can be modified if it's something I sold. Feel free to use it. When you are given something from me, a woodworker; you're receiving more than an object. You're getting hundreds of hours of errors and experimentation. You're getting years of frustration and moments of pure joy. You're not getting just one thing. You're getting a piece of my heart, a small piece of my life. CVWA Club Meeting Minutes 10 March 2019

President Milo Mead called the meeting to order promptly at 6:35 PM. 55 Members 0 new members and 6 guests were pre-sent: Guest: Dave Risse, Larry Kleip, Victor Iehl, Karl Bultsma, Dave McCann, and Kevin Dasington

Thank you to: Roger Butts, Mark Taute, Kim Buenneke & Barb

Gurney for furnishing treats. Barb Gurney for making the coffee and for keep-

ing track & reminding those who are to bring treats.

Announcements: Milo Mead:

There are a few slots for members to sign-up to bring treats to our monthly meetings.

On the front table, there are 4 books, router sten-cils, and a 82” bandsaw blade that are availa-ble at no cost to any members.

If any member has any ideas for where the club should visit on a tour, please contact any board member or come to our next Board Meeting. Our next Board Meeting is March 17th at Dave Turner’s home, 430 Prospect Blvd., Waterloo, IA at 7 PM. All members are welcome to at-tend.

Our next club meeting is April 14th. Dave Turner – explained that he was passing around a clipboard for the membership to initial if they are interested in receiving mailing from the listed spon-sors. Ed Hollis – announced that there is an auction in Oel-wein, March 14th, that includes numerous wood work-ing tools. Dave Turner requested that Ed send him the flyer and he will email the flyer to the membership. Input on Waterloo Fire Department Program: Very informative and the tour to the main fire station was excellent.

Website: Issue with the updates on the website being only the day before the meeting and his-tory on the website.

Gift ideas for the upcoming Christmas party: Dennis Gilroy brought an example that was very well received, as was the idea that Dave Turner suggested.

New Business: Thank You notes to:

Waterloo Fire Department Jeanine Begalske for doing our taxes

Future Meeting Programs:

April – Due to Covid-19, April General Mem-bership Meeting is Cancelled – Motion was made by Stephen Crouse to cancel our April meeting. 2nd by Dennis Gilroy. Approved. Dave Turner will contact the 3M representa-tives and inform them of the cancellation and see if they are available for our April meeting, or for a later date.

May - Open Future Meeting Tours:

Apr 16th – Plink Cutlery, Postville, IA. Will con-firm tour on Apr 1st and email details to mem-bers.

Next General Meeting date: CANCELLED Next Executive Board Meeting date: April 21st at Dave Turner’s shop
