Funder strategies, priorities & policies for
customers
Stage A. Assess
Where is the railway now and
what do our customers need
medium and long term?
Stage B. Plan the Railway
What is the best railway strategy
to deliver improved services?
Stage C. Identify
What are the right things to
offer our funder(s)?
Stage D. Build the Proposal
What is our
proposal to the funder?
Stage E. Define & develop the Programme
How do we best
deliver the benefits?
Stage F. Design the service
change
What is the best solution to deliver
the service change?
Stage G. Execute
Deliver the work to enable the
service change & deliver benefits
Stage H. Close the Programme
Have we
delivered what we said and what lessons have we
learnt?
Understand current and future customer demand on the railway , identify opportunities and set strategic goals.
Identify where the railway is currently unable to meet its strategic goals and identify the best railway options to address.
In the context of the strategic plan, identify which opportunities should be prioritised and progressed
Develop the overall programme of work, reducing risk and developing increased clarity and certainty. Prepare a proposal for the funder which outlines the whole programme with a plan, protocol and cost for the next stage of work.
Work with our funder to develop a proposal which outlines the opportunity and provides a plan, protocol & cost for the next stage of work.
Design all elements of the change. Plan, cost and undertake all pre-contract activities.
Execute the integrated programme as per the contract.
Close down the programme in agreement with internal & external clients.
Industry Integration: Timetable & rolling stock inputs to deliver service
