It is our actions which should be managed, not the Earth. There should be active public participation through NGOs and societies. Various movements like Chipko, Naramada Bachao Andolan which are aimed for environmental protection should be encouraged. Active involvement of judiciary in the form of Suo Motu and PIL should be welcomed. Stockholm Conference, 1972 Montreal Protocal,1987 Earth Summit, 1992 Rio,2012 Paris Agreement,2 015 Copenhegen Summit, 2009 International Platforms Introduction Our framers of the constitution have realised the importance of environment and have set up guidelines in the form of articles and directives to protect it. Environment should be attached to the faith and sentiments of people. as it used to be in ancient times. There must be a harmony between faith and policing. Several conferences and actions were initiated and as a consequence many environmental laws have been implemented.
