Our Fast Track courses are one or two day weekend courses. These courses cover topics such as orthopaedic surgery, dentistry, and echocardiography. These are a great introduction to these topic areas and are relevant and accessible for your own clinical practice.

Our programs are run by experts in their fields and you can choose from a number of Modular programs, Fast Track courses or, if you have a specific interest that you want to explore, you can participate in individual modules of some of our year long courses.

The Modular programs are run over one to two years and include theoretical, online and practical modules for surgery. We complement our face-to-face sessions with online content to fit around your busy schedule.

After registration and prior to the program start you will have access to our Learning-Management-System (LMS), where you can read the lecture notes before each module, complemented with journal articles, images and recorded webinars.

We test your knowledge before and after each session and ask you to reflect on your skills and set goals, to guarantee the best possible outcome for each individual. The pre-modular surveys help our speakers gauge the level of the group and adapt their teaching content to match delegate’s needs.

Practical Laparoscopic Surgery

introDuction:

This highly practical 2 day course is for the general practitioner who wants to learn how to perform basic and commonly utilised laparoscopic procedures, before investing in further equipment.

Many clinics own flexible endoscopy units and have the preliminary equipment necessary for rigid endoscopy and laparoscopy. This program provides training and hands on experience with the additional instrumentation required to perform laparoscopy.

It will teach laparoscopic bitch spaying and other clinically relevent techniques.

The capped small group setting allows plenty of opportunities to practise procedures and up-skill while working closely with a specialist surgeon experienced in laparoscopic techniques.

By the end of this course participants should have an understanding of: • Equipment required for laparoscopy • Instrument handling techniques • Basic principles of laparoscopic surgery, electrosurgery, haemostatis, laparoscopic ovariectomy/OHE • Liver, gall bladder, pancreatic and splenic biopsy techniques.

The practical workshops are excellent - focused, thorough and entirely relevant to our everyday work. The lecturers and tutors have been unfailingly enthusiastic, knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. We have developed some amazing relationships with specialist surgeons who are so willing to assist with queries at any time. Improve International has facilitated our enthusiasm and improved our skills in dealing with a wide range of surgical cases. Improve, we can’t thank you enough...

lynne and Diana, RSPCA QLD

I realised after the first module how much knowledge gaps there are despite being a fairly experienced and competent surgeon. It is a great guide towards doing the Membership exams, providing a more modular approach to a very broad subject area. The course is well organised and the lectures are great. Great course, well worth the monies!
