HISTORY
• Child Development Centers Inc. and Continuing Development Inc. began in 1965.• Child Development centers Inc. consists of care
from infancy to grade six.• South Bay Child Development Center became a
state subsidized program.

MISSION & PHILOSOPHY• Program guidelines are
upheld to the high standards of the NAEYC and NAA.
• “We strive to partner and build relationships with families as families are the most important people in children’s lives”.
• “We acknowledge similarities and differences as strengths when building a community of respect among children, staff and community”.
• “Our program reflects the theories and concepts of Piaget, Erikson, Vygotsky, Dewey, Gardner, Reggio Emilia and High Scope”.

GOALS/OBJECTIVES & VALUES• To provide opportunities for
staff which supports their professional growth.
• To acknowledge that children are active participants in their learning and to allow an environment which supports them as the center.
• Center: To provide opportunities for collaborative explorations. Teachers observe children’s interests and base activities around them. Environment based on support, trust, inclusion, respect and understanding for staff, children and families.
• Ours: independent child directed curriculum through play and other activities.
