Kenwood gives you the choice.Introducing D MASK+ — an advancement on our revolutionary MASK fully automatic revolv-ing, self-hiding faceplate. This year, Kenwood engineers have added a removable faceplateto MASK. When the power is turned off, the D MASK+ faceplate revolves to a standby posi-tion and remains there for a few seconds (you decide how long). If you wish, you can detachit. Otherwise, D MASK+ continues revolving, until it shows only a blank panel. D M A S K +models also include the MASK angle adjustment, which lets you choose the angle that maxi-mizes visibility in your installation (particularly if the unit is mounted low in the dashboard).

D MASKKenwood also introduces DMASK, which combines a manual MASK mechanism with aremovable faceplate. Like D MASK+, you choose whether to remove the faceplate or not.The DMASK faceplate flips down at the touch of a button, allowing you to remove it or manually flip the whole faceplate over so that it shows only a blank panel. When it comes to DMASK+ and DMASK faceplates, you can take them or leave them. It’s your choice.

Sigma ServoA speaker that vibrates after its input signal stops will sound muddy.That’s why Kenwood invented Sigma Servo, a special circuit inKenwood amplifiers that tightly controls the speaker. A feedbackloop that goes to the speaker terminals gives the amp the informa-tion it needs to damp the speaker. Instead of a damping factor of100, which is typical of most amps, Kenwood amps with SigmaServo have a damping factor of up to 9,900. You get a more accu-rate sounding bass than amps without Sigma Servo. Sigma Servois something only Kenwood has.

why Kenwood is able to fill any car with powerful, accurate sound.

Never mind its radical appearance. Kenwood’s new “Tornado Type” cone isvery strong. Its striking shape functions to stiffen the cone, making it muchless prone to unwanted vibrations. This reduces distortion while also improvingbass definition and clarity. Furthermore, the new Tornado-Type cone resonatesat about 170Hz, which is far above the woofer’s usable bass frequency rangeof 25 - 100Hz. This makes its resonance irrelevant, further improving bassclarity. Conventional woofer cones resonate at around 100Hz, which is lowenough in frequency to create unwanted low-frequency distortion. As a result of the Tornado-Type cone, in combination with a longer-throw voicecoil and bumped back plate, these new subwoofers also have excellent powerlinearity, which you can’t get without cone strength. Power linearity means thatthe woofer’s frequency response remains linear at high and low power levels,giving them extremely clear sound even at chest-thumping volume. Theirsound is just as radical as their appearance.
