CD Cover Research

• I have researched Indie Pop/Rock covers as it will be the genre I will use for my CD cover

• The Killers album ‘Day & Age’ is an interesting cover and it shows the attributes of indie cover designs due to its colourful, retro and somewhat nostalgic look. It is also quite an artistic album cover, which is a common trait for indie band album covers.

• Again, ‘Pala’ by Friendly Fires is a colourful album cover. It features a bird which is also a common attribute to indie album covers as many feature animals.

• A lot of Indie album covers are odd and The Shins’ album ‘Wincing the Night Away’ is different than the common pop album. The cover design is quite plain but it works well because The Shins’ music is different
