    CAFDIRECT LAUNCHES COSTA RICA SINGLE ORIGIN COFFEE:

    100% Strictly High Grown beans exclusively from

    the Tarrazu Mountains for a distinctive, premium quality coffee

    High in the mountains of the Tarrazu region in Costa Rica lies the Llano Bonito

    Cooperative, where smallholder growers tend their small plots of land with their

    families, nurturing and hand-picking the ripest coffee cherries to go into Cafdirects

    new Costa Rica coffee.

    Created to appeal to coffee lovers looking for a new level of sophistication in their

    morning cup. The Arabica beans are grown in the rich, volcanic soils of the region

    which helps to cultivate their delicate acidity, and are classified as Strictly High

    Grown, which allows them to ripen slower and develop a fuller flavour.

    Thierry Akroman, Quality Manager at Cafdirect, explains, By growing the beans at

    altitudes up to 2000 metres, they mature very slowly which brings out the coffees

    unique characteristics, an exceptional aroma, perfectly balanced body and prized

    high acidity. Strictly high grownbeans, also known as strictly hard beanfor their

    unique density are the highest grade in the industry. This new single origin is a

    showcase for Arabica coffee at its best.

    Costa Rica Roast & Ground Coffee was developed in partnership with a singlecommunity of smallholder coffee growers at the Llano Bonito Cooperative. The

    berries are hand-cultivated and selectively picked at their ripest, reinforcing

    Cafdirects ethos of being made the small way.

    Thierry suggests, To fully bring out all of the flavours, I would recommend that this

    coffee is best brewed using a drip machine, although as part of our roast & ground

    range it is suitable for a number of brewing methods including cafetires. Costa Rica

    in particular is an excellent morning coffee.
