Welcome to Chris Connelly Photography, Saratoga’s premier body positive boudoir and intimate portraiture studio. My team brings you the most luxurious photoshoot experience combined with beautiful custom images you will cherish for a lifetime.

For our clients, the process and experience are just as important as the images, which is why we make sure their session is comfortable, fun, relaxing and personalized. We want to know you, even before you walk into the studio. Through your pre-shoot questionnaire and the contents of your Pinterest board, we will understand your story so it can come through in the images we create with you. Krista will help you select the right outfits, let you know exactly what to expect on the day of your photo shoot, and communicate your vision to the rest of our team. She will be there with you throughout your shoot.

Of course, she will help make sure that there is no hair out of place, no tags showing and no straps twisted, but those are just the basics. Clients are so enthusiastic about the personal treatment they receive in our studio, they leave with a glow and positive energy that stays with them well after the session is complete.

Hair & Makeup


Professional hair and makeup services are included with your photo shoot experience.

Once you book your session, we’ll send you a pre-shoot questionnaire so you can give us an idea of the look you‘re going for. The day of your shoot, our hair and makeup artists will be prepared to create the perfect look for you! They will also discuss makeup colors and styles based on your final outfit selections.

Professional hair and makeup is such an essential part of the boudoir photography experience; it can make or break your photo shoot and that’s why we only work with the best makeup and hair artists.

We work with many of the areas top hair and makeup artists. They are a part of our team, and not only do they know how to give you the perfect look, they know how to do makeup for the particular lighting and retouching techniques we use.

Do you have a specific look in mind? We suggest creating a private Pinterest board as a place to save ideas, looks and outfits that catch your eye.

“One of the most common worries about doing an intimate shoot is: What will I wear? Don’t worry, a little planning

goes a long way”

Don’t overthink it, but a little planning goes a long way. Number one question we get once clients book their photo session: What should I bring?

First, bring outfits that make you feel great. It can be a little black dress, a special piece of lingerie, your favorite tee shirt or a parka (yeah, we can even work with a

parka). If you look in the mirror and say “I feel pretty good in this!” then bring it.

Matching lingerie sets are nice and photograph great, but individual pieces are great too. Bring a variety if you want, they take up very little room and more options are always better. Remember, your favorite bras or panties that are super comfy and offer support all day might not be the best for your images. Think about texture: sheer and lacy things tend to photograph well. Maybe an item has really cool straps or ties or maybe it has a cute bow on the back.

Above all, bring things that fit and try everything on prior to your session. If it is too loose or too tight, the most amazing bra will not magically look great in a

photograph. From a variety standpoint, mix it up a bit. For panties, bring a couple thongs if you wear them and mix in a couple light colors and a couple dark colors.

Robes can be great as an outfit for an image or for wearing in-between setting changes and is also handy during hair and makeup time.

The unsung hero of many photo shoots is a simple men’s white oxford. Yup, clean and pressed – worn open even with a simple pair of white cotton panties can make a great image. Simple is almost always better.

PosingChris is an Expert at Capturing you in the most flattering light

We have worked with clients ranging from 20-somethings to 60-somethings of all shapes and sizes. We know exactly how to pose you right down to your fingertips. You don’t need to worry about a thing, simply show up for your session ready to have fun.

Years of experience, combined with both a male and female perspectives from our team, ensure that you are always posed in the most flattering ways and in the most flattering light. During your session we will just ask for simple adjustments such as: “bring that shoulder towards me, bring your chin forward a bit, now look up at me with your eyes, etc.” Nothing complicated and we always making it easy and fun. Chris will even demonstrate some of the poses ahead of time - that makes it easy (and provides a fair amount of comic relief )

It’s super simple and you don't need to do anything to prepare for this.



Retouching


Retouching is not re-shaping, or making you someone you are not. You can rest easy knowing that I’ve been working with images for more than 35 years and my clients love how I do this. They love it because I’m not heavy handed - we’re not going for the plastic barbie doll skin look. We’re simply removing those unwanted blemishes, etc. and leaving the image looking like your beautiful self.

If you are looking for a photographer that will change who you are in the images - give you a bigger this or smaller that; while I am certainly capable of doing it, I strongly feel that you are the absolutely best version of you there is. In my opinion, reshaping always makes you less than you are and you are more valuable than that.

Before & After I totally respect your wishes in wanting to include or exclude anything from

being altered in your images. Each image you order will come skin retouched (removal of any blemishes, scars, cellulite, stretch marks, etc.)

When will I receive my portrait order? You will receive your final order in 3 weeks or less. If you have a specific date that you need your photos by let us know ahead of time and we can make that happen for you.

Before your shoot Once you book your shoot you'll receive our welcome email and questionnaire. In our welcome email we'll share tips for preparing for your photo shoot. It's all optional and easy stuff like, "drink more water, arrive with a clean face for makeup application". We'll also send you our super fun questionnaire. This will help us to tailor your photo session to be the photoshoot of your dreams. We also LOVE when our clients share images that they love! If you have time, create a Pinterest board and pin some photos that you're drawn to. Once you're done you can send us the link to your board!

When you arrive for your shoot, we'll review your Pinterest photos and some images from our portfolio. You can tell us which looks you love best to help us tailor the shoot to your exact needs.

We’ll also go through the outfits you brought and help you narrow them down if need be. We can help you with any wardrobe questions and let you add any accessories from our collection as well.

Once you’re all settled in we will figure out which outfit you’re most comfortable with and we’ll start with that one first.

We have a wardrobe closet just for you, a private bathroom and changing area. We have thought of everything and want you to be 100% comfortable.

The most important thing to know is that you should not be worrying about posing or facial expressions at all! That’s our job and we know just how to coach you through it in a super easy way.

We’ll start of with the simplest pose and Chris will coach you on exactly where to look, how to smile, etc. You’ll never

wonder, “where should my hand be, does my face look good, or am I doing this right?”

Have you ever had a friend take your photo and you’re unsure how to pose to look your best? Well, you’re in great hands here because we know exactly what poses look best on which body types. You’ll be amazed by the results!

We will be very clear on exactly what to do, and even demo the poses which makes for a really fun experience. We’ll even show you your photos along the way so you can be confident in knowing how amazing you look.

Once we’ve gone through all the outfits, set changes and captured the images you were dreaming of, Chris will get to work on your proofs so you can see them in about 30 minutes.

Once you arrive for your photo session you’ll walk in the studio and notice you love the music playing. That’s because when you book your shoot, one of the things we ask is who your favorite artists are and then use Pandora to create a unique music station just for you! We want to make sure you’re 100% comfortable while you’re here at the studio.


YourIsn't it awesome that you’ll get to view and order your favorite photos the day of your session? Our clients love that they don’t have to wait weeks to see their gorgeous photos! Once your proofs are ready, we’ll start out with a slideshow of your portraits so you can just sit back and enjoy them.

It doesn’t end when the camera stops. As soon as the proofs are prepared, Krista will sit down with you to review and discuss each image. She will help you select the best of the best to include in the print package you choose.

If your package includes a designer album, Krista will identify the ideal colors, backgrounds and layout to showcase your beautiful images. Even when your package is finished, we will be here when you pick up your order to celebrate and share in your satisfaction.

Albums and books are the most popular, but we also have wall canvases and metal prints that are perfect to hang in the bedroom, walk in closet, your master bath or other intimate space.

From the day of your shoot to delivery of your portrait package is only 2-3 weeks!

Once you select your favorite portraits the day of your shoot, Chris will personally develop each image, correcting for light and color, retouching any blemishes and ensuring anything that detracts from the image is addressed. At your shoot, we will make notes about any specific requests you have for individual images. The developing process takes about a week.

After your pick your favorite images and your package, we will pick a date for your to come back and review your developed images and preview your book or album.

From the day you approve your final proofs, to the day your album or prints come in, is often as few as 5 days!


Booking Your Session

To book your session with Chris Connelly Photography, simply go to our website and and select “schedule” from the main menu. You will be directed to our reservation system that allows you to see the dates and times that are available. You can reserve your date and time right online. A $200 session fee deposit is required to book your photo shoot with us.

Your session fee is all inclusive and includes your pre-session consultation, studio and staff time, professional hair and makeup service, and same-day proof viewing, etc. Basically everything you can think of minus your image order.

Q: I'm not a lingerie-type person. Can I still do boudoir? A: Absolutely! This is YOUR session, customized to your taste. You can do a session wearing a dress, robe, button-up, torn jeans and t-shirt or nothing at all. Let us know if you are interested in a more in-depth wardrobe consult.

Q: I’m not sure I feel comfortable spending money on myself. A: I totally understand. That’s why we offer payment plans to make a boudoir portrait experience manageable for any budget. This is an experience that you will remember for a lifetime and you’ll be able to look back at your pictures and cherish the memories and experience for years to come.

Q: What if I don't like my pictures? A: After photographing for more than 35 years, I’m confident that you will be thrilled with the finished product. However, if for any reason you’re unsatisfied you may opt out of purchasing your photos.

Q: Can I bring someone with me to the session or viewing? A: You are welcome to bring a guest over the age of 18, if you would like. If this is necessary because you’re nervous please email us so we can make special arrangements.

Q: What if I want a product you don't offer? A: You get the digital file of any picture you purchase, so you’ll be able to create whatever you want with it. That said, the professional labs I work with will likely be able to accommodate your request.

Q: I’m not sure I can afford this. A: What we offer is a premium experience and everything from the images themselves to the quality of the materials used for your product order are second to none. Many of our clients have found that our various payment plan options and financing options through PayPal make affording your dream boudoir portrait experience a bit easier. Ask me for details.

Q: After my order is placed, will I be able to purchase more from that shoot in the future? A: No. We only do one viewing and ordering session, the day of your shoot. We do not archive any images you that you choose to not purchase.
