activities?´ Does your chapter have a yearbook?´ Does someone in your chapter maintain a chapter Facebook page?´ Does someone in your chapter send emails and or text members
when needed?
Today we will zero in on your chapter’s newsletter, chapter’s website, and copyright information.´ Best resource for you who are chapter communication chairs is the
Guidelines for Chapter Communications and Publicity Chairs.´ The members of Alpha Epsilon’s Communication Committee are

As editors, you are not only keeping your members up-to-date with Chapter, State and International news, your newsletter could also be one of Alpha Epsilon State’s 5 Star Award Winners. How does my chapter’s newsletter earn the
5 Star Award?Ø Publish at least 5 newsletters each year. Make
sure to send a copy of each newsletter to the Communication Chair as well as the rest of the
Communication Committee.Ø Earn an average of 15 to 20 points in these two
areas: Format and Content.

´ Aesthetic: ´How does your newsletter look?´Does it have “pizzazz” but not too distracting?´ Is it balanced keeping font changes to a minimum?´Can you readily spot the most important news?

errors?´Does you message flow with limited amounts of
“padding?”´ Is your newsletter succinct and to the point? Your
sentences should be informative without being wordy.

Purposes of the Society
Omicron Chapter include the Purposes on a different page in their newsletter. Alpha Gamma Chapter includes DKG’s Vision Statement as part of the newsletter’s Masthead.
Reorientation
Tau Chapter’s newsletter highlights one of the DKG founders.
Alpha Chi’s newsletter highlights one of DKG’s funds.
Reorientation may be:Ø A trivia question about DKG.Ø Highlighting one of the Founders.Ø Discussing qualifications for
membership.Ø Explaining how to apply for
scholarships, mini-grants, travel grants, etc.
Announcement of Meetings
Alpha Omega chapter makes sure that the members know what to expect in the upcoming meetings.
Gamma Lambda also gives the members notice on the upcoming meetings.
