CCNA Classes

Becoming certified as a CCNA, or Cisco Certified Network Associate, involves taking CCNA classes

to prepare for the comprehensive final examination. Like any certification process, you must complete

these classes before the challenge of a comprehensive examination. Once CCNA certified, your

qualifications will be accepted around the world, and is one step above the entry-level CCNET

certification. You must have this certification before you can advance to any of the higher three levels

in the Cisco administration system.

There are many options in selecting the right classes. You can choose from a variety of online

courses, which offer many different ways of learning the material. For experienced Cisco students,

there are shorter, more intense classes that are used more as a study guide. The average CCNA

courses are spread over a six month time span in order to adequately cover the materials needed to

sit the certification examination.

CCNA classes will prepare you to sit for the examination to determine whether or not you will become

CCNA certified. The classes cover two units provided by Cisco that encompass the expected

outcomes of the process. There are two testing options from which to choose, though the study

materials are the same for each. You may choose to take the one ninety minute testing period, during

which you will answer 45-55 questions; this is mainly for those who are already experienced in Cisco

operations. If you don't have prior experience, you can instead sit for two tests. The first test is ninety

minutes long and covers 50 questions, to be administered after the first series of ccna courses. The

second test comes after the second set of classes, and is the same length and time as the first exam.

During CCNA classes, students will also learn how the exams are set up. Types of questions will

include multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, real life situations, and short answer essays. Students will

practice taking the exam to become more comfortable with the structure and content of the

examinations; this is essential to passing success. This eliminates time wasted on figuring out what to

do, and allows you simply to answer the questions.
