is seeking applicants for the newly established position of Public WorksForeman. The person appointed by the Mayor to this position will be re-sponsible to plan, direct, manage and oversee and perform the activities andoperations of the City of Iowa Colony including the Public Works departmentin accordance with a job description that has been prepared for that posi-tion.

The Public Works Foreman should possess at least a high school degreeor equivalent from an accredited institution. (Exceptional work experiencemay substitute.) Possession of a college degree in a related field is desir-able, or in the alternative a history of continued growth in management andleadership responsibilities and a record of and continued desire for personaland professional growth opportunities. The Public Works Foreman shouldhave at least 5 years’ broad experience in local government or businessupper management. Knowledge of finance (municipal preferred), publicworks operations, infrastructure operations, water and wastewater treatmentand planning preferred. Experience in capital improvements projects, as wellas knowledge of state and federal grant and regulatory programs is also de-sired.
