• Referee letters are requested by the Faculty Affairs Office, not the applicant. CWRU prohibits the applicant, at any time, from contacting the referees.

• You or your designated proxy may follow your application status online.

• If you do not submit a CCLCM application, you will be granted a clinical assistant professor or adjunct assistant professor, non-tenure track, faculty appointment. Thereafter, you may apply at any time for another appointment level.

Candidate selects appointment type: • New • Promotion • Transfer current CWRU

appointment • Secondary CCLCM

appointment • Visiting appointment while

non-tenured application is completed may be granted if required.

Proxy may be granted to your admin staff to enter information and check application status.

At any time, you may revoke the proxy.

Primary Area of Excellence is declared by the candidate: • Clinical service, including

clinical research • Research (bench/laboratory) • Teaching (education is the

subject of your publications/lectures)

Primary Area of Excellence is determined by your CV content subject matter (clinical, research, or education).

For most CCLCM faculty members at Cleveland Clinic, “clinical service,” or “research” is their primary area.

Not all appointment levels require referee letters. When indicated, required referee information for selected appointment level must be provided. To expedite application completion, we ask for more referee names than are needed.

Referee letters are requested by the Faculty Affairs Office, not the applicant. CWRU prohibits the applicant, at any time, from contacting the referees.

Make careful note of referee requirements in the Appointment Guidelines. Referees must meet CWRU referee requirements or their letter may not be accepted!

Some fields are required; others are optional

Minimum required qualified referee letters: Professor & Associate Professor – 6 externals, 2 colleagues, 4 trainees Assistant Professor – 3 colleagues Instructor – 2 colleagues Clinical/Adjunct Professor & Assoc. Prof. – 2 outside CWRU, 3 colleagues

CVs for full-time applications must be in standard CCLCM format

CVs may be updated online at any time
