Poems of Dread
I’ve tried to escape this hideous doppelganger
Manufactured from descent
Soft war horns echo in my antechamber
I will fight no more, forever
Did the right thing;
Towed the line
Certainty was guaranteed
But its false promise reared up
Arms without use are limbs for spiders
Enveloping, choking, swallowing whole
In this dark house, wax figurines
Stand beautiful & awful, melting
A steam in constant flux
Solid, liquid, solid, liquid
Never the right temperature to escape these states
Never the right flavor to satisfy these lips
Thought there was strength enough to pull me through
I was wrong
I was so wrong.
I am odious
The cache of damage is forever unsettling
Brilliant blind eyes can only hear its tale
No matter, they float in their own black mire
Sunken by time and light

Give me thine cave from which to live in
Does better served;
befit just deserved?
Or are a harried pair of paddles
More fit to the curved
Τι έχω κάνει (what I’ve done)
Fear in its keenest sense has slew me
Fast to the sleep
Apex
At first I was lost, but now I am found
Maybe not at first, but surely at some point along the way
What have I discovered?
The mind is my erogenous zone
Stimulate it, and it will in turn stimulate you
I sat in slow, thick death for years
Rotting fruit on my tree of life
Falling, drooping, numbed
Recant this lot and spell again
A morbid life, will not
