Wouldn’t it be nice Created by Amy Mellors

Chocolate Fon Tu-Tu created by Kea Gargivio

My inspiration for this garment came from a fondue maker. I like the way the chocolate flowed down a fountain all melted.

The layers of the fountain gave me the inspiration to form a garment that would create three elements - melted, layered and chocolate.

Hopefully I have managed to achieve that.

.

CEASAR’S MALTEASERS created by Georgina Ridge

The good feeling that comes from eating chocolate is its creamy texture and different forms.

Chocolate Winterfest, Latrobe gives the festival feel and formed the idea to use malteasers as beads.

COVERED IN FROSTING

created by Amy Morris

Chocolate cupcakes, chocolate sprinkles and all the little decorative things people put on

cupcakes.

Cup cakes taste good, smell good and look good. Some are so extravagantly designed;

it’s a shame to eat them.

It’s someone’s small form of art that you can eat.

CHOCOLATE DESIRES created by Stacey Coughlan

My inspiration was Cadbury’s white, milk and dark chocolate.

The dark chocolate satin represents the folds of melted chocolate.

TRIPLE DECK CHOCOLATE created by Abby Crossin

Triple Deck Chocolate is depicted in the dress.

The flowing skirt imitates the delights of flowing chocolate and the colours are, of course, all chocolate choices.

LICORICE QUEEN created by Kylie Birtwistle

A lot of people like licorice and chocolate because the two go together so well, like peas in a pod.

I decided to make this mouth watering dress with a touch of sex appeal to attract the men’s taste buds.

JUST RIPE created by Lisa McConnon

This garment was inspired by a piece of scrap, rich red velvet I had at home.

This, combined with the chocolate theme, inspired me to create a “Cherry Ripe” tunic style dress.

Page 10: CChhooccoollaattee WWoonnddeerrss OOff · PDF fileThe layers of the fountain gave me the inspiration to form a garment that would create three elements - melted, layered and chocolate

CHOCTAIL created by Sarah Paige Leembruggen

Choctail is a garment advertising chocolate in a fun, cocktail way.

The chocolate necklace and fascinator means you can’t stop the Temptations!

Aero Melt Created by Stevie Buckley

I decided to eat a piece of peppermint aero chocolate and could feel it melting in my mouth. I thought of green and

brown and then thought of a milk fountain with the inside bubbly part

of aero melting into it.

The love heart on the dress is for the love and temptation for chocolate, which I

know we all have ...

Cherry Ripe Created by Kareina Day

Delicious Cherry Ripe - the colour, texture is yum, so is this beautiful, handmade paper. Totally gorgeous.

Puff the Chocolate Dragon Created by Michelle and Karly Shaw

Efforts for this design started as a one day workshop,

bringing ideas and a year's supply of accumulated chocolate wrappers to the table. What started as a caftan type dress turned more into a Kimono. In keeping with the

theme, Karly and I came up with a fire-breathing dragon that would

drape from one shoulder to the other, making use of all those chocolate

wrappers with his scales and various other body parts. We had to think outside

the square or rather, the wrappers, with Karly assigned to cutting out the different

parts of the many wrappers. His eye is from a Humpty Dumpty Easter egg while his scales

are from numerous chocolate wraps. See how many you recognise.

Chocolate Delight Created by Jessica Rutherford

Through my love of designing and making evening gowns, I wanted to create the feeling of the smooth, warm texture of melted chocolate.

Chocolate Dreams Created by Janelle Woodward

Following Jan Foster's progress in hospital, one of her first requests was for Kate's Chocolate Mousse! Her continued recovery is the stuff dreams are made of.

Page 13: CChhooccoollaattee WWoonnddeerrss OOff · PDF fileThe layers of the fountain gave me the inspiration to form a garment that would create three elements - melted, layered and chocolate

Flow On Created by Lesley Dell

The flow of chocolate running into moulds has inspired this creation.

Koalas Aren't Bears Created by Lauren Burk

My inspiration was my dog and the day she snuck into my room and took a Caramello Koala and wouldn't let go of it! My design consists of a yellow and purple satin strapless bubble dress, with a wrapper belt and matching fascinator. All up there are over 50 individual wrappers in my design - Koalas Aren't Bears. This is my first year of studying fashion design and I am really enjoying it.

Page 14: CChhooccoollaattee WWoonnddeerrss OOff · PDF fileThe layers of the fountain gave me the inspiration to form a garment that would create three elements - melted, layered and chocolate

Snackalicious Created by Mel Richley

Inspired by Cadbury Snack

Velvet Temptation Created by Melissa Parsons

My inspiration was from a New York fashion show. I originally thought of having roses indented throughout the bodice but when I put them on the top of the bodice, I decided I liked the main part of the bodice plain. The skirt was inspired by the colour and look of velvety chocolate. A romantic design with the association of romance and melted chocolate.

Page 15: CChhooccoollaattee WWoonnddeerrss OOff · PDF fileThe layers of the fountain gave me the inspiration to form a garment that would create three elements - melted, layered and chocolate

Melt Created by Michelle Walker

I have based the dress on melting/melted chocolate. It drips and drools and teases us with its glossiness. A slight pink emerging from the hem of the dress could indicate it may be strawberry flavoured ... perhaps even Turkish Delight ... mmm

Freddo Dress Created by Renee Duguid

I created this garment with house paint and Freddo Frog wrappers. My inspiration was the Cadbury Freddo Frog chocolate because it is a yummy thing to eat. When I was a little kid, I just loved Cadbury chocolate - and still do!

Page 16: CChhooccoollaattee WWoonnddeerrss OOff · PDF fileThe layers of the fountain gave me the inspiration to form a garment that would create three elements - melted, layered and chocolate

Mocha Mood has been created out of a skirt, a blouse, a pair of trousers, naturally dyed Japanese silk, some neck ties - all pre-worn.

Yogo Go Go Created by Rachel Reily

My inspiration came from Yogo yoghurt. This was once a daily snack: 6 or 7 a day. But not anymore as I am now lactose intolerant. This garment is a dedication to a never again habit!

Page 17: CChhooccoollaattee WWoonnddeerrss OOff · PDF fileThe layers of the fountain gave me the inspiration to form a garment that would create three elements - melted, layered and chocolate

I created my dress inspired by a cherry ripe chocolate bar and its wrapper. It's one of my favourite chocolate bars.

Winter Dreams Created by Teaghan Blenkhorn

The snowflakes of Winter and the printed snowflake of the wrapper inspired this outfit. Whiteness of snow and Winter fires were inspirations. Curling up with a hot chocolate on a cool Winter's day is a perfect ending to the day's work.

Page 18: CChhooccoollaattee WWoonnddeerrss OOff · PDF fileThe layers of the fountain gave me the inspiration to form a garment that would create three elements - melted, layered and chocolate

The Perfect Break Created by Kylie Birtwistle

My garment is made out of plastic, melting chocolate, paint,

polystyrene balls and material. The idea behind the design

was incorporated by the fact that so many Tasmanians love

to take a short break to unwind with coffee and a piece of

cake or confectionary!!! The bodice of the dress is made

from calico and stretch-cotton material to hold the

dress, with the fancy rose added to give the ensemble

a more feminine touch.

Cadbury Dress Created by Alexandra Strobl

I used house paint and Cadbury foils to create my dress and mask. My inspiration was the colour of Cadbury wrappers. I love chocolate and would eat it all day long.

Hot Chilli Chocolate is a woollen coat, naturally dyed in Eucalyptus and a wool scarf, hand embroidered and embellished with a hand dyed doylie.

Created by Teena Aird

My garment was inspired by a dream I had and I simply had to create it and make my dream dress come to life.

Cherry on Top Created by Laura Vella

The inspiration for my design was influenced by different elements; the skirt of my garment was influenced by my love of cupcakes, the ruffles on the bodice were inspired by fluffy chocolate icing, and the cherry on top is the finishing touch.

Page 22: CChhooccoollaattee WWoonnddeerrss OOff · PDF fileThe layers of the fountain gave me the inspiration to form a garment that would create three elements - melted, layered and chocolate

Choc Wear Created by Bonnie O'Keefe

I wanted a colourful dress so I thought if I use coloured chocolate wrappers, that would be exactly the look I

want. The dress looks nice enough to unwrap and eat. Unfortunately I NO NOT like chocolate, but I

love their colourful wrappers.

All Sorts by Renee Duguid

I created this garment with fabric, house paint and all sorts of chocolate wrappers. My inspiration was all the colours of the different types of wrappers available. Who doesn't love these sorts of chocolates!

Page 23: CChhooccoollaattee WWoonnddeerrss OOff · PDF fileThe layers of the fountain gave me the inspiration to form a garment that would create three elements - melted, layered and chocolate

Vote With Your Lips by Lauren Burk

I was inspired to use the Chocolate Winterfest logo on my design as a feature piece as well as the "Aztec Gold" for the bodice and an array of wrappers and fabric flowers. The flowing, layered skirt comes

up from the ground and into the hipline. Vote

with your lips but think of your hips!

Milk Twirl Created by Chloe McTurk and Hannah Stafferton

The Cadbury advertisement shown on television inspired us to make this creation.

The advertisement showed milk and chocolate being twirled around in the air to make the delicious outcome of a chocolate bar.

The dress is a long, flowing swirl of milk and chocolate blending together.

Page 24: CChhooccoollaattee WWoonnddeerrss OOff · PDF fileThe layers of the fountain gave me the inspiration to form a garment that would create three elements - melted, layered and chocolate

The Ferrero Rocher paper pans, the gold wrappers and chocolate inpired me to create this delectable garment.

Minty Moments by Kate Leiper

I was inspired by premium mint chocolate M&M's. The skirt intrprets the outer layers of the chocolate treats with green fabric and a brown waistband. The shirt interprets the white

chocolate minty filling, while the green spotted hem represents the M&M's as a whole.

Marvellous Creations by Livia Dry

To make something using scraps of material and leather. Something patchy and mismatched. The new chocolate "Marvellous Creations" is exactly that. It matches different shapes, sizes and fillings.

Sweet AS Swing Dress by Rosie Savage

Licorice all sorts were my inspiration for this garment. It's not exactly chocolate but it's fun and delicious. Licorice goes so well with chocolate.

Podalicious by Dianka Butler and Savannah Cornell

The inspiration for our design was influenced by cherry pods. The skirt represents the crunchy shell that covers the smooth cherry flavoured centre which is shown by a red lace petticoat. It is just a very podalicious design.

Lindt by Alyssa Gaffney

The black and silver of the dark Lindt chocolate wrapper adorns the body highlighted with some Cadbury delights.

White chocolate elegance

by Julia Matthewson

White chocolate wedding cake with elegant chocolate flowers. All

chocolate is wrapped in paper so I wanted to use that medium. The

Death by Chocolate

by Timothy Vesper

Too much chocolate can be fatal to our bodies. It is a hidden weapon against us but we still love to indulge in its pleasures.

Snack Supreme by Amy Winkler

I was looking through a magazine and saw a multi-coloured dress and immediately thought "snack". The colourful fabric is a great example of the different flavours and colours of the snack chocolate. This design is very similar to the Mondrian "Channel Dress".

Schwarzwalder Kirschetorte

(Black Forest Cake)

by Julie Norbury

This garment is made completely from recycled materials bought in op shops. It represents all my favourite things about Latrobe: chocolate, sherries, op shops and antique designs. Its purpose is to make people aware that it's possible to make something new and beautiful using previously loved materials.

After Dinner Mint by Claire Cunningham

Mint chocolate was the inspiration for my garment. I came across the idea in a magazine. The mint choc biscuits were the first ones that I saw. Also being my favourite type of chocolate, I couldn't wait to get started.

Looking over some of the past entries I realised that there were nomale garments so I decided to make one. I think it woul dbe great to have a chocolate geni who could grant all your chocolate wishes

NOT Guilty by Darian (Dee) Alford

The luxury of my enjoying rich, dark, velvety chocolate (especially with a coffee chaser), juxtaposes with the plight of workers in exploitative situations rests uncomfortably with my conscience. Fortunately, I can choose Fair Trade chocolate and now enjoy my indulgence, content in the knowledge that I am supporting farmers and workers in developing countries to improve their working and living conditions. This really inspires me! A truly guilt-free experience.

Cadbury Waterfall by Amelia Norman

I was browsing the internet and came across a simple dress. It caught my eyes and I added a purple strip on the waist and chocolate fascinator and fan. I used a chocolate house paint to paint my material. I would wear this with chocolate on my lips.

Cherry Ripe by Aukje Boonstra

The making of this outfit started off with a red wool v-neck cardigan which I tied and naturally dyed with walnut shells/husks. It was then beautified with a collar of a satin dressing gown and vintage buttons. The moth holes were emphasised with hand stitching as well as other parts of the cardigan. The dress was made of the remainder of the satin dressing gown. Cardigan and dressing gown were both purchased in op shops and upcycled. The colours of the outfift remind me of Cherry Ripe chocolate bars.

Condom Turkish Delight

Dress by Carmen Wilson

I wanted to use the combination of condoms and chocolate to show the relationship between eating

chocolate and safe sex. Sometimes chocolate is seen as an aphrodisiac and I thought better to be safe than sorry.

The condoms were donated by Youth and Family Focus. They are flavoured with strawberry and vanilla; just

like chocolate.

Elephant Fantasy Fudge by Brittany Smith

Mr Elephant Fudge (in St Marys) is my most favourite choccy place. Lizzie's varietys of handmade chocolate fudge have the most smooth texture and wonderful flavours. Then ... there is her scrummy handmade chocolates and gorgeous Coconut Ice. Last month I learnt to crochet and am having fun experimenting with shapes which has led me to being part of this event for the first time.

Flowing Flake by Kourtney Barr

I had an instant rush of inspiration to make an outfit inspired by the flake wrapper. I used the same colours as the

wrapper so it would represent the flake design. The dress is a free flowing dress, with godets the give

the dress that extra swish of glamour.

GaGa for Chocolate by Hannah Rowlands

I wanted to represent the silver foil and wrapper around the chocolate in a wearable form. I also wanted to combine the GaGa industrial look with my love of chocolate.

Melting Moments by Joby McCarthy, Laura Jewell and Libby Simpson

Chocolate - rish, creamy, decadent, smooth and wonderful, melting down, thick and warm. We were approached by our art

teacher, Mr Bently, who asked if we would like to create a design to enter in the 2014 Chocolate Wonders of Wearable Art competition. Obviously our first thoughts were 'wow. We'll need to eat so much yummy chocolate.' We were excited to see what we could come up with. Our Principal, Mr Lutwyche supported the idea and put boxes around the lunch area for students to place chocolate wrappers in. We collected quite a few then got together in Art to design our dress. Finally we put is all together over the school holidays.

We named our design 'Melting Moments' and tried to show the thick, rich choolate melting at the bottom of the dress.

Mint Bubbly Wrap by Whitney Carter

The green , purple and gold wrapper of Cadbury Mint Bubbly provided the inspiration for this garment. They create a stunning clash on this evening style garment.
