DEAR 2020 COHORT,MENTORS & INVESTORSWelcome to Velocity Week! Now in the fifth year of hosting the creative accelerator, we are energized by the talented creatives joining our cohort. The impact of Covid-19 has laid bare a great need. This has empowered our focus to provide inception stage business training to strengthen and expand the capacity for creatives to launch sustainable companies. CCE’s programs are more vital now than ever--not only for startups but also for people needing to start over!
2020 has been an amazing year that began with the launch of the first Kinetic Boot Camp for creatives, and the continuation of our Velocity Creative Accelerator. Historically, CCE utilized online delivery for 75% of its programs. In this time of disruption, we have fully adapted our programs to online, and are finding new ways to innovate. Additionally, CCE’s programs teach vital business skills such as customer discovery, financial management, business models, and go to market strategy. This training is delivered in a unique, customized manner with a team of over 30 mentors and guest facilitators who work seamlessly with CCE sta�. It’s a beautiful thing!
We are thrilled to host the 2020 Velocity Creative Accelerator and continue building connections throughout North Carolina, nationally, and internationally. CCE’s mission is to Launch, Grow, and Accelerate creative businesses. Velocity is a prime example of our vision at work!
Creative industries are an important driver in today’s economy. This year, companies from 11 countries and 11 U.S. states applied to participate in Velocity. Of the 10 startups selected for the program, 50% are run by female entrepreneurs and 50% are owned by people of color.
