Central Board of Irrigation & Power was set up by the Government of India in 1927. It is committed towards the development of Irrigation, Power & Renewable energy sectors of the country through its Human Resources development. It is a premier institution of the country and has been rendering dedicated services to the professional organizations, engineers and individuals in the country and abroad for the last 91 years.CBIP has earlier celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 1952, Golden Jubilee in 1977 and Diamond Jubilee in 1987 and these celebrations were inaugurated by Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, the then Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri B.D. Jatti, the then Hon’ble Acting President of India and Shri Rajiv Gandhi, the then Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, respectively.

To commemorate its long standing contributions in the field of Water Resources, Power and Renewable Energy Sectors in the country and neighbourhood, CBIP celebrated CBIP Day on 4th January, 2019 at SCOPE Convention Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.
