Caille's Trade StimulatorsCheck-Paying Trade Machines Used the World Over.

As trade Stimulators and Lid-Lifters there is nothing to

compare with the extensive line of Counter-Style Automatic CheckMachines. Even where there is objection to the straight moneymachines, these trade devices are being run with good results, and not interfered with whatever. As all of these Check-Payingmachines are made very liberal, they prove a great form ofamusement, and the means of bringing customers into the placeswhere used. Players never get sour on them or over their luck, for they only lose small amounts at a time.

These machines appeal to the known spirit of speculation, sostrong in every man. They interest and gratify that element inhim at small cost to himself, and they give him a fair show and"a good run for his money" against slight odds.

The merchant who is anxious to increase his business can doso by means of these machines. They are made expressly for thepurpose of stimulating trade in a manner equally satisfying tomerchant and customer.

The machines listed herein will increase the business of anymerchant and are particularly adapted to liquor dealers, druggists, cigar stores, billiard rooms, etc. Experience Ilas demonstratedthat they will positively increase trade 50 to 100 per cent. if asquare deal is given.

An investigation would surely prove profitable and interestingto you. 'vVe have ample evidence to offer and can refer you tonumerous customers who know by pleasant experience that CailleTrade Stimulators do stimulate trade.

This machine is the result of long and careful study on tilepart of experienced mechanics, who have made coin operatingmachines their life's work and know every requirement of the different operators throl.ghout the country. Impossible to beat orcheat it.

Note that this is a counter style machine, the only one of thekind on the market. Occupies but little space on the counter andtherefore requires no large room or pedestal in case of crowdedquarters.

Caille's Operators BellWITH GUM SIGN.

The works of this machine are exactly the same as our LibertyBell, but the reward card and reels show different fruits in theiractual colors, and it calls for a 5c package of gum for everynickel played.

This often proves a great inducement for new players to startin, for they feel they get their money's worth win or not. Besidesthis, it makes the machine allowable in most every part of theworld.

Overcomes the worst prejudices against chance machines andis termed a sel1ing machine rather than a gambling device by thegeneral public.

Notice how the coin top, reward card and finish combine withthe elegant carvings to make it most attractive and fascinatingmachine to behold. You know what this means as a money-getterand great player.

and durable, and most simple in every way. The coin top is the

acme of perfection. It is fool-proof, cannot be operated with

Caille's Silver CupThe Only Real Automatic

Double-Dial Machine

This is a combination trade check or money machine that isreplacing every other style of coin-operating machine.

As a money machine it will compare with any large floormachine; when arranged to payout checks only is allowed everywhere. Also has a special gum sign if necessity requires it.Five can play at once or one player can play the five slots. Rewards are from ten cents to two dollars.

The coin top is perfection itself. Impossible to get a pennythrough or clog it in any way. The main works are so arrangedthat it is impossible to empty the payout by manipulation, eventhough some one should maliciously drop in badly deformed coinsthat would block it up. This is taken care of by a special lockingdevice that automatically goes on the minute the machine becomesclogged and it remains so locked until the clogging coin isreleased.

The check separator is new, ~imple and entirely different fromany other. It is absolutely sure. Metal case is handsomelycarved and finished in our serret process nickel. This. with thebeautiful color dials and reward card. combine to make a moststriking and attractive machine to behold. You know what thismeans as a big play gettel'

Works are mounted on slides in case and held in place bytwo thumb screws and can be removed by simply loosening thesescrews and pulling out at back door.

Where crowds gather it is proving a great money getter, andis as popular with players as wi~h proprietors. .

In localities where there is objection to the large moneymachines, this is proving a fine substitute for our great favor!te,The Big Six, and as it is a counter style and check payll1gmachine is tolerated practically everywhere.

Players never tire of this machine, for it is liberal enough tohold their attention and they are always figuring on some schemeto get the bes t of it.. . .

Tremendous Opportunities tn

Automatic Money Paying

Machines

o the man who is on the alert and "up to snuff,"

Tas the expression goes, this branch of the slot machine business olIers unequaled money makingopportunities. The field is practically unlimitedand those uninformed as to the facts are aston-ished when they learn of the many places where

these "amusement" machines can be placed and are being operated.

In every state in the Union and in every country on the globeyou will find the Caille Automatic Money Paying Machines moreor less in use. The field is a large one and any live man canfind locations for from two to ten machines or more in almostany locality. It is simply UD to the "push" and "get-there" qualities of the individual operator.

Opportunities abound. I f the authorities do not wish to havethem within the city limits, perhaps it will be different in thesuburbs. In some places machines are used only during the evening or on Saturday evenings and on Sundays or holidays. Theynever fail to make good.

It must be admitted that in most large cities sueh machineshave been placed under the ban in order to shield some other"game," while "Bucket Shops," Boards of Trade and other "GoldBrick" schemes are permitted to flourish. All the time gettingthe worst of it, these machines are nevertheless being sold inlarge numbers and are made in more elaborate styles and betterconstructed than ever before.

The smaller towns and villages are conceded by leading operators to be best of all. In such places the "power behind thethrone" has no "dens" or "Bucket Shops" to shield and consequently these "amusement" devices are not molested.

Probably there are no better locations than Clubs, RoadHouses, Health Resorts and Summer Resorts. Steamboats arealso most profitable locations. That the opportunities are manyis evidenced by our thousands of successful customers and thelarge number of new ones gained daily.

Caille's New WayLEGALIZES BIG MACHINES AND IS A SURE WINNER.

Caille has invented a Gum Vending Device to attach to ourfamous Eclipse Slot Machine that is allowed to be operated inmany localities. It is just as legal as many of the schemes resorted to by the leading merchants of every city in the country tosecure trade.

Eclipse Gum Machine delivers a 5-cent package of gum foreach coin played, and if the player is lucky he will receive a cashprize, according to the slot played-that's all.

Identically the same as the merchant who gives away tradingstamps to his customers, or the tea store giving a "set of dishes"with a pound of tea. Just as legal as trade or card machine.

Eclipse GUIr.. Device has been the means of many of our customers operating machines, and practically one whole state is nowopen to Eclipse Gum Machines.

Device is very simple, and consists of a series of six chutesto hold gum-each chute having a cut-off device which lets outone package of gum for each nickel played. There is nothing toget out of order or cause the least trouble.

Gum is regular 5-cent package. and we sell it for $7.50 netper 1,000 packages, or 5,000 pieces.

Many players do not take the gum, so the average cost ofgum per play will not exceed one-half cent.

If you are all operator, or interested in such a machine, youshould order the complete Eclipse Gum Machine at once and GetBusy.

Gets the money quickly.

The Big Six Special will work in very nicely in any of theTwin and Triplet combinations as illustrated on pages 3-1 to 3D andwe particularly recommend this style to be used for quarter orhalf dollar plays. as it gi\'es the machine a decided distinction:however. it is also a most excellent ::\ickel proposition.

This machine is similar in construction to our Big Six as illu~

trated and described elsewhere in this catalog. but it has the distinction of having the largest color spaces of any machine evermade. It will be noticed that there are but twehe color spaceson the dial, viz: 2 Big Six; 2 Red; 2 Bl::tck; 2 Green; 2 Yello\\';2 vVhite. These spaces are numbered from one to six to correspond with the slots on the coin detector. The dial is a yery hanusome affair, executed entirely by hand-the work of a cleverartist, who does this work exclusively for us. These large spacesmake the game more fascinating and appeal to the player withconsiderable force, as the chances of winning seem so much morefavorable.

Caille's DetroitA SIX SLOT.

. On account of the Detroit being the original machine showIng the pay-wheel in full view of the players. it became knownfar and wide as "Honest John." Everyone belie\'ed it could notbe. "plugged," whereas it actually has a percentage regulator ofunique design that is only found on the "Detroit"' machine.

The "Piker" manufacturers had to devise an expo ed paywheel and soon came out with a "faked" affair controlled on theinside. They h;\\'e all had tn take a "back seat" for the original.

The pay-wheel of a Detroit actually stops dial and causesthe paY-O~lt works to operate. This principle is employed in allour machInes where the exposed w11eel is used.

Thousands of "Detro its" have been sold and they are usedin every "nook anrl corner" of the alobe.

Caille's Coin Detectors

To be had ONLY with our "Puck," "Detroit," "Lone Star,""Forty-Five," "Eclipse" and "Big Six." Overcomes the technicalpoints of the Nickel in the Slot law. Operators should give thisa thorough test.

The apparatus consists of a circular carriage which carries anumber of tubes containing checks the size of nickels and stamped"Good for five cents in trade." These tubes will hold 1,000 checks.which pay the winnings to the players. Nickels or checks areplayed into the machine and go direct to the "Rake-off." Alsoarranged for quarter play.

The main object of having a machine with a Check Feeder isthat in many places where regular nickel machines are prohibited,a m:l.chine which pays ()ut nothing but Trade Checks will be permitted to operate. Some authorities claim that a machine whichpays out no money is not a gaming device. 1f such is the case, themachine described cannot be stopped. Others claIm that a machine which I'eceives no money and pays ant none is not a gamingdevice then all that is necessary is to play checks in<;tead ofnickels.

The machine fitted with this Check Feeder can he used oneither plan and can be quickly changed into a straight money machine.

Mu;;t be fitted in machine at factory.

The coin detectors of our six slot machines are marvels oisimplicity and are the most reliable. Each slot is independent ofthe others, hence should aile become clogged by badly bent cOInsor otherwise, the remaining tive slct~ are not Interfered \\'Ith, anrlcan be played as though nothing had happened. No other slot ~achine has this advantage and if one slot clogs on them the entiremachine is out of business, Not so with the CaiIle.

The front of our coin detector can be removed in a few s.econds by simply pressing down two levers, after first rerr~~vln?

For a long time past we have been experimenting on a checl;paying device to take thp place of our Tube Check Feeder as used(>11 our Automatic Money Paying Machine,;. \Ve are pleased titannounce that after giving this improved device nearly three years'practical test in our various styles of machines we are so \\'('11satisfied with results that hereafter all Cht'ck Paying Machineswill be equipped \\'ith this new system if desired.

'vVe have the most perfect arrangement for the purpose thathas ever hetn devisl'd. This Improved Check Feeder Separatt'sthe Money from the Checks so that either can be played into themachine and the checks alone will go to the pay-tube, and nothing but the money will !!O t(1 thl' "rake-ofL" I t is wonderfullyaccurate and absolutely Separates Money from Checks and wiilnevcr make a mistake.

\\lith this improved arrangement there are no tuues to hef, llt'd with a Ia"ge quantity of checks. But one tube is required, which is similar to that of the regul"r Money Paying Machines.and when it is once loaded it will remain in that condition practically all the time.

\Ne furnish Two lIundred and Fifty Checks with each CheckDevice, bnt it is only neces·-;~ry to use one-half of thi;; !lumherand the balance is a sllrplus intended to I'eplace checks whichmight be carried away.

The Caille Improved Check Device can be USed on theEclipse, Lone Star, Big Six, Forty-five, Detroit and Puck 111'arhines.

The improvement is certainly an ideal one.Kindly bear in mind that a machine equipped

with thi's device pays out nothing but Trade Cheeksand whatever money is played goes to the "rakeoff" and when checks are played they go direct toth~ pay-tube.

'0 more tuhes to keep filling with chccks, which was alwaysa source of considerahle annoyance. Our new device fills tuueautomatically and is always loaded and ready for business.

It is absolutely positive and certain and there ;s nothingabout the arrangement to cause the least trouhle.

This Improyed Check Feeding and Check Separating Devicemust be fitted in machines at our factory.

Can equip machines having this device with our coin registers.if this Money Sa'.'er is desired.

Caille's "No-Gaming" Sign

This sign is made entirely of Metal with raised letters and ishandsomely plated. It can be attached or detached in a moment'stime-it is simply clamped on to the Coin detector. In many placesthis sign takes off much of the "curse" and machines are alluwedto be operated in places where without it operation would beentirely out of the question. We know of operators who havesubmitted this sign to Chiefs of Police, Mayors and Judges, withthe result that in many instances the machines were allowed to run.

This wording appears 011 sign:

Having five slots, gets as much playas five ordinary singJeslot penny machines.

As it automatically pays out its own rewards in trade checks, requires no attention whatever, no matter how many are playingat once.

A great machine to operate on percentage, as the only attention it requires is to collect the money and put the checks backinto the pay tube.

Reel is divided into fifty spaces-half, or all black balls, areblanks. The other twenty-five spaces are divided as follows:

Nine reds or singles, pay five cents in tracle.Nine greens or doubles, pay five cents in trade.Four browns or triplets, pay ten cents in trade. Two blues or home runs, pay twenty cents in trade:One Tiger or game won, pays twenty cents in trade.Pays one trade check for each of the five different rewards.Check or pay-out system consists of a series of five tubes

which hold five hundred checks, each of which represents one reward. These tubes are equipped with special locking cut-outsand top caps, thus preventing unscrupulous parties from robbingthe machine by shaking or rough handling.

Metal Trade and Machine ChecksThe great demand for checks to be used in connection with

It can be attached to all makes of machines.

THE SECURITY HA5P is made so it covers the door lock toprevent its being tampered with. It is made of brass and handsomely nickel-plated and is screwed to the machine door and topof cabinet, so tha't when padlock is put on, the screws cannot be

removed.

Our operator friends will feel more secure if they use this littledevice, and by having an extra padlock they can shift locks asoften as machines are visited, thus securing themselves againstloss from a source which has heretofore been hard to cope with.

There is no doubt that all owners of slot machines have, atsome time, entertained fears that others besides themselves possessed keys to some of their machines. THE SECURITY HASPwas invented so there need be no fear uf anyone having duplicatekeys to open machines for the purpose of pilfering.

The regular movements we use have large nine-inch cylinder~

Important-Regarding Coins to

be Played

Always state if machine is to be played with Pennies orNickels so that it can be adjusted ready to set up.

It is important that we know if we are to ship by Express or

Freight.

Canadian and Foreign Customers will please observe thatmost Trade Stimulating machines are made only for coins the sizeof U. S. Nickels and Pennies and only the following machineswill be changed for the Canadian penny or other such coins:"Quintette," "Royal Jumbo," "Globe," "Winner Dice," "Good

Luck," "Little Dream," "Banker," "Success" and "Jumbo Success."

An extra charge of $1.50 will be made on each machine wherecoins are larger thah the U. S. Nickel, which is about Ys inches or

21 centimeters in diameter.

SPECIAL. For machines that cannot be made for the largersize coins we advise the use of our Metal Checks. These checksare sold to the players and in every case are just as satisfactory asmoney for operating the machines. The sport is exactly the same-the chances the same.

Our Terms and How to Order

Prices quoted are as low as is consistent with the high grade

and unequaled quality of our machines-therefore our terms are

strictly cash. In ordering, the best way is to send us N. Y. or

Chicago bank draft for the full amount, which can be obtained at

any bank, but if preferred, remittances can be made by certified

check, post-office or express money order. Do not send personal

checks. Prices subject to change without notice.

Machines can be shipped either by express or freight, but

when wanted in limited time would advise shipping by express.

It is the quickest way, for if sent by freight the time lost in transit

causes a much greater loss in profits than the additional cost cf

the expressage over the freight rate.

Send NEW YORK or CHICAGO DRAFT or POST OFFICE

or EXPRESS MONEY ORDER. Personal checks are credited

less discount charged by bank.

If you do not wish to send the full amount with order, you

can deposit the money with your express agent and have him

write or telegraph us to that effect, and we will ship as if we

received full amount. Machines will be forwarded C. O. D. by

express or draft attached to bill of lading by freight, if desired,

but we require one-third of the amount with order as a guarantee

of good faith. You can have your banker look us up in Dun's or

Bradstreet's Commercial reports as to our financial responsibility.
