March 5, 2013 beginning at 3:21 P.M.

Robert LoScalzo:I'm calling with a question for you about the parks committee, and the USTA expansionapplication. Is there any committee meeting coming up, of the parks committee or anyother committee, or a joint meeting of any committees, to get any more informationabout that application?

CB3 Staff:From where are you calling?

Robert LoScalzo:

The group is called Save Flushing Meadows Corona Park.

CB3 Staff:Save Corona Flushing Meadows Park. Give me one second. What is your name?

Robert LoScalzo:It's Robert LoScalzo.

CB3 Staff:Okay. Give me one second.

CB3 Staff:Okay. We have the USTA We have a meeting on March 14.

Robert LoScalzo:That's the public hearing [not the committee meeting].

CB3 Staff:Yeah, that's the public hearing. We also have [sighs] Give me one second. Okay?One second.

Robert LoScalzo:Okay.

CB3 Staff:Hello?

Robert LoScalzo:Yes, hi.

CB3 Staff:So, so far we have the public hearing on March 14.

Robert LoScalzo:Yes, but I'm asking if there's any parks committee meeting to get more information from

USTA and to have a vote of the parks committee before, before March 14.

CB3 Staff:Let me, let me see if Ms. Reid wants to speak to you, okay?

Robert LoScalzo:Who is that?

CB3 Staff:Ms. Reid. That's the District Manager.

Robert LoScalzo:Okay, thank you.

CB3 Staff:Okay.

CB3 Staff:Hello?

Robert LoScalzo:Yes, hi.

CB3 Staff:Actually, we have a web site. You can go to the web site, our web site. If not, you cango to the web site of the Parks Department. They In their behalf, they might be havingmore meetings. But for us, right now we just have public hearing for March 14.

Robert LoScalzo:Okay. I looked on the CB3 web site before I called you, and there's nothing on there ofany notice of any committee meeting for the USTA.

CB3 Staff:

Yeah. So it means that we don't have anything else but that one, the March 14 [publichearing]. But if you look into, see whether the Parks Department or somebody else hasmore meetings, you can go to that web site Parks Department.

Robert LoScalzo:Okay. But you're saying you're one hundred percent sure that there's no meeting ofany committee of CB3 to consider the USTA application?

CB3 Staff:One second. Ohy

CB3 Staff:Hello?

Robert LoScalzo:Yes.

CB3 Staff:Yes, that's the only one that we have [i.e., the March 14 public hearing].

Robert LoScalzo:Okay. And who am I speaking with?

CB3 Staff:This is Myra.

Robert LoScalzo:Okay. I've got to tell you that I'm getting other information, that there is a meeting tonight

a joint meeting of committees of CB3, in order to get information from USTA andpossibly even to vote as committees on that application. So is that information notcorrect?

CB3 Staff:To vote? We're not voting tonight.

Robert LoScalzo:The committees have the right to vote, in order to come to an opinion they will thenbring to the full board on March 14.

CB3 Staff:I'm not allowed to say anything but give me one second, okay?

Robert LoScalzo:Okay.

Marta E. Lebreton / CB3 Chairperson:Good afternoon, this is Marta Lebreton, the Chairperson of Community Board 3?

Robert LoScalzo:Yes, hi Marta, this is Robert LoScalzo. I'm not sure if we spoke a week ago or so

Marta E. Lebreton / CB3 Chairperson:Okay

Robert LoScalzo: About committee meetings pertaining to the USTA application. I have heard that thereis a committee meeting or a joint meeting of more than one committee of CB3 occurringtonight.

Marta E. Lebreton / CB3 Chairperson:And where did you hear that?

Robert LoScalzo:I would rather not divulge where I heard that, but I think I should be hearing if it's truethat it's happening I should be hearing it from your office. Because meetings ofcommittees are open to the public; the public is invited to attend them. So I'm justasking for confirmation, either yes or no, that the meetings are happening tonight.

Marta E. Lebreton / CB3 Chairperson:Well there is a meeting occurring on the 14th, which is our public hearing, and you'rewelcome to attend to that.

Robert LoScalzo:I understand that there's a public hearing, and I'm not asking about the public hearing.I'm asking about committee meetings prior to March 14.

Marta E. Lebreton / CB3 Chairperson:There is not a meeting. We will be meeting on the 14th; at the public hearing, at thattime the full board will vote.

Robert LoScalzo:Okay. So you're saying it's simply not true, that there's any meeting at all tonight.
