CB-634DThe Tools To Meet Density Requirements

The CB-634D has all the tools neededto tailor compactive effort withdensity requirements,allowing youroperator to meet specifications in thefewest passes. The CB-634D is designedto handle the versatility of compactingharsh Superpave mixes one week andtender Marshall mixes the next.

The CB-634D is capable of meetingthose fluctuating specifications with itsfive vibratory amplitudes.

• High amplitude works best on thicklifts or harsh mixes.• Medium-High is designed forintermediate to thick lifts.• Medium amplitude is well suited to 50mm (2") to 100 mm (4") lifts.• Medium-Low amplitude compactsoptimally on intermediate to thin lifts.• Low amplitude works well on thin liftsand tender materials.

Whatever the application, the CB-634Dhas an amplitude setting to get the jobdone.

The CB-634D can be used in all phasesof compaction, reducing the need for avariety of rollers. The CB-634D iscapable of working as a breakdown andintermediate roller because of its highcompactive forces. When operated in thestatic mode, the CB-634D is a perfect fitas a finish roller because of its highstatic pounds per linear inch (PLI). Itsmachined steel drums provide a smoothfinish in this application.

The system consists of two diaphragmpumps driven by electric motors. Onlyone pump operates at time, supplyingpressurized water to both sets of drumspray bars. Pump operation is controlledfrom operator’s station. System providescomplete back-up capability controlledfrom operator’s station.

Spray can be set on continuous formaximum wetting action or intermittentfor maximum duration between fill-ups.The “Auto” selection pulls water fromthe front tank while traveling forwardand from the rear tank while travelingbackward. This keeps the machine’sweight evenly distributed throughout theday. Nine spray nozzles per drum areeasily removed for replacement orcleaning without the need for tools.

The instrument panel is located in frontof the operator and contains thespeedometer, vibration mode selector,light switches, hour meter, alternatorindicator light, fuel gauge, and warninglights. An audible alarm sounds andwarning light illuminates if abnormalconditions occur in engine oil pressure,engine coolant temperature or charge

pressure. Operational lights are alsopositioned on the instrument panel. Theyilluminate if the vibratory system, drumspray system, neutral or parking brakeare engaged.

Machine controls are also located to theoperator’s right on the control console.These controls include the start switch,

electric throttle, propel lever, speedselector switch, automatic speed control(ASC) dial, drum spray switch, vibrationswitch, horn and secondary/parkingbrake switch. Electrical system fuses andrelays are located on the side of thecontrol console.
