Are you the last to leave the building? Please make sure all four front doors are locked and latched. Sometimes you have to push/pull them to make sure they are latched. To lock the door you must use the Allen wrench that hangs on a nail to the left of the south door, and put it into the hole under the handle on the door where they come together. Turn it to the left until the handle is released (comes outward). Then you check to see if the door is locked. If not, you may have to use your key from the outside. Let’s all work together to make sure our building is secure. If you’re not the last one, please make sure the last one to leave knows how to lock to doors. If you have questions or need a demonstration, please call Loren Green 269-282-6604. Thank You.

Song of Praise - (9:00 AM only) All Creatures Of Our God And King 1. All creatures of our God and King,

Lift up your voice and with us sing, O praise Him, alleluia! Thou burning sun with golden beam, Thou silver moon with softer gleam, O praise Him, O praise Him, Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

2. Thou rushing wind that art so strong, Ye clouds that sail in Heav'n along, O praise Him, alleluia! Thou rising moon, in praise rejoice; Ye lights of evening, find a voice, O praise Him, O praise Him, Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

3. Let all things their Creator bless, And worship Him in humbleness. O praise Him, alleluia! Praise, praise, the Father, praise the Son, And praise the Spirit, three in One. O praise Him, O praise Him, Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

(ENDING) O alleluia! Alleluia! O alleluia! Alleluia!

O alleluia! Alleluia! O alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

(11:30 AM) - He is Arisen! Glorious Word (LSB #488) Scripture Readings Lay Reader: The first reading is from Acts 11. [Acts 11:1-18] 1Now the apostles and the brothers who were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God. 2So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcision party criticized him, saying, 3“You went to uncircumcised men and ate with them.” 4But Peter began and explained it to them in order: 5“I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision, something like a great sheet descending, being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to me. 6Looking at it closely, I observed animals and beasts of prey and reptiles and birds of the air. 7And I heard a voice saying to me, ‘Rise, Peter; kill and eat.’ 8But I said, ‘By no means, Lord; for nothing common or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’ 9But the voice answered a second time from heaven, ‘What God has made clean, do not call common.’ 10This happened three times, and all was drawn up again into heaven. 11And behold, at that very moment three men arrived at the house in which we were, sent to me from Caesarea. 12And the Spirit told me to go with them, making no distinction. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we entered the man’s house. 13And he told us how he had seen the angel stand in his house and say, ‘Send to Joppa and bring Simon who is called Peter; 14he will declare to you a message by which you will be saved, you and all your household.’ 15As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on

2 them just as on us at the beginning. 16And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ 17If then God gave the same gift to them as he gave to us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God’s way?” 18When they heard these things they fell silent. And they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life.” Lay Reader: This is the Word of the Lord. C: Thanks be to God. Lay Reader: The second reading is from Revelation 21. [Revelation 21:1-7] 1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” 5And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” 6And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. 7The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son.” Lay Reader: This is the Word of the Lord. C: Thanks be to God!

(Stand and sing) Song - Change My Heart, Oh God

Change my heart, oh God. Make it ever true. Change my heart, oh God. May I be like You.

CHORUS: You are the potter; I am the clay. Mold me and make me; this is what I pray.

Repeat all.

Lay Reader: The Gospel reading for today is from John 13. [John 13:31-35] C: Glory to You, O Lord. 31When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him. 32If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and glorify him at once. 33Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You will seek me, and just as I said to the Jews, so now I also say to you, ‘Where I am going you cannot come.’ 34A new commandment I give to you, that

3

you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” Lay Reader: This is the Gospel of the Lord.

C: Praise to You, O Christ.

Sermon Hymn - Jesus Lives, the Victory’s Won (LSB #490)

Sermon Text: Matthew 5:43-48: Love Your Enemies P: “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ C: But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, P: so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. C: For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? P: And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? C: You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. P: This is the Word of the Lord. C: Thanks be to God.

Sermon: True Love for Others

Offering Song during the offering - The Power of Your Love

1. Lord, I come to You, let my heart be changed, renewed, Flowing from the grace that I’ve found in You. And, Lord, I’ve come to know the weaknesses I see in me will be stripped away by the power of Your love.

CHORUS Hold me close, let Your love surround me; Bring me near, draw me to Your side, And as I wait, I’ll rise up like the eagle, and I will soar with You. Your Spirit leads me on in the pow’r of Your love.

2. Lord, unveil my eyes, let me see You face to face, the knowledge of Your love as You live in me. Lord, renew my mind, as Your will unfolds in my life, in living every day by the pow’r of Your love. CHORUS twice

Prayer of the Church [P: Let us pray to the Lord. C: Lord, have mercy.] CALL OF OUR NEW PASTOR: Lord Jesus Christ, You instituted the office of the public ministry and instructed Your Church to call ministers of Your Word. Having prayed for the guidance of Your Holy Spirit, we, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, placed a request to have a candidate for the holy ministry assigned to us, to proclaim Your saving Gospel among us. This has now been accomplished through the Council of Presidents of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. A call will be issued to him on “call night” at Concordia Lutheran Seminary, St. Louis, on Wednesday, May 1. On that night, he will be made known to us. As he receives his call, assist him to recognize the needs of this congregation and the welfare of Your kingdom. Grant him wisdom and peace in this call to serve among us. Hear us for Your sake, as You live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. AMEN

Lord’s Prayer (found inside the back cover of LSB)

Words of Confession and Absolution P: Almighty God, our maker and redeemer, we poor sinners confess unto You that we are by nature sinful and unclean and that we have sinned against You by thought, word, and deed. Wherefore we flee for refuge to Your infinite mercy, seeking and imploring Your grace for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ. C: O most merciful God, who has given Your only-begotten Son to die for us, have mercy upon us and for His sake grant us remission of all our sins; and by Your Holy Spirit increase in us true knowledge of You and of Your will and true obedience to Your Word to the end that by Your grace we may come to everlasting life; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. P: Almighty God, our heavenly Father has had mercy upon us and has given His only Son to die for us and for His sake forgives us all our sins. To those who believe on His name He gives power to become the children of God and has promised them His Holy Spirit. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved. Grant this, Lord, unto us all. C: Amen.
