Palm Sunday

Our Lenten journey climaxes in this celebration of Holy Week. Our liturgy begins with Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, but the reading of the Passion invites us to walk with Jesus through suffering and death as well. God’s prom-ise is fullness of life, but often we cling instead to the empty promises of life that the world offers: power, fame and mate-rial wealth. To what must we die in order to live more fully with Christ and to share his life?

[email protected] Spiritual Journey—April 25 The Spiritual Journey Retreat will be held at St. Helen’s Catho-lic Church in Georgetown beginning at 9am and conclude with mass at noon. You will have a chance to listen to the stories of some of our beloved, retired priests. The Practice of Art-Journaling—May 22 Art Journaling is the use of simple art material, written jour-naling, contemplative gazing and receptive noticing to help respond to prayer and expression. Sr. Marianne Hieb, RSM, D.Min., will lead this retreat and is a member of Lourdes Well-ness Spirituality Retreat Team. To register or for more infor-mation, visit www.cedarbrake.org or contact Cedarbrake at (254) 780-2436 or [email protected]. The Parables in Luke’s Gospel—June 1 This retreat will be held at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center on June 1 from 9am to 2:30 pm. The retreat will focus on why Jesus used parables and how we can apply them to our life to-day. Father Angelo Bertini, retired chaplain from Cedarbrake, will facilitate this day. For more information contact Cedar-brake at (254) 780-2436 or visit www.cedarbrake.org. Desert Solitude Silent Retreat—June 9-14 This is a silent retreat centering prayer and daily Mass as the focus. Beverly Collin, assistant director, will lead this retreat. This is a wonderful time to come to Cedarbrake and enjoy the quiet. For more information contact Cedarbrake at (254) 780-2436.

From Ashes to Easter With the Lord there is mercy and fullness of redemption. We can help make things new with small, yet joyful sacrifices. The works of mercy are charitable actions by which we come to the aid of our neighbor. With continued generosity to the Ashes to Easter Lenten Mission Campaign, local missionaries are able to instruct, advise, console and comfort the poor in the mission areas they serve. Please be generous.

Special Collection on Good Friday, April 14 The annual collection to support Christians in the Holy Land will be taken up on Good Friday. Our contributions will assist the Franciscan friars and others in housing and feeding the poor, providing religious formation and education, maintaining shrines and parishes, and conducting pastoral ministry in the Holy Land. The annual Good Friday Collection is a pontifical collection requested by the Holy Father and offers a way for all of us to help maintain a Christian presence in the Holy Land. Please be generous.
