Homily Profession of Faith

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, The communion of Saints, The forgiveness of sins , the resurrection of the Body And life everlasting. Amen

SAY HELLO TO TIM DYKSINSKI OUR NEW MUSIC AND LITURGY DIRECTOR

I am a native of Milwaukee and grew up in the Jackson

Park area. I attended Blessed Sacrament Grade School and Don Bosco High School. I have been involved in

Catholic Church Music and Liturgy since I began playing for Mass in 8th grade.

Besides Milwaukee, I have served parishes in Orlando,

Florida and Houston, Texas.

I look forward to meeting “y’’all” and worshiping together around the Lord’s table.

Tim

I am sorry to announce that Nancy Crivello has accepted a job offer and has resigned her position of parish secretary

at Saint Roman Parish, effective September 3, 2018.

Nancy has been a valuable member of our Parish Staff. Her work and contribution, including extended hours of

dedication and hard work are greatly appreciated. We will

miss Nancy’s charm, professionalism, empathy and strength.

On behalf of everyone at St. Roman Parish, we wish Nancy

good luck for the future and bid her a happy farewell. God

Bless you Nancy!

Sincerely, Patricia Deleon

Where Do Your Kids Spend Their Time? Child Safety Tip:

You can help keep your children safe by knowing where they spend their time. Get to know the adults who show up at the

various locations in the community where children gather and where they play. Be wary of any adult who seems more

interested in creating a relationship with a child than with other adults. Pay attention when an adult seems to single out

a particular child for a relationship or for special attention. Warning signs include treats, gifts, vacations, or other special favors offered only to one specific child.

Friday, October 26, 2018 St. Roman Parish will be hosting our annual “Bizarre

Holiday” at our parish. Can you help us either by donating

a certificate or a prize to help with this event? (Please make sure donations are NEW or slightly used.) You can

drop your donations off in the back of the church in the bin that is labeled “Bizarre Holiday” or at school.

All items are needed by Wednesday, October 17.

Are YOU able to help?

One of our parishioners needs a ride to Mass. She prefers

the 10:30 am Mass and lives around 31st and Layton.

Please call the Parish Office at (414)282-9063 for more

information.

THANK YOU from the

St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Roman Parish

As always, the SVDP Back To School Drive was a huge success. Through your generosity we collected 11 boxes of much needed school supplies. After St. Roman Parish

School gathered what we needed for our school children,

we had such an abundance of supplies we also shared with the Catholic School communities of Holy Wisdom

Academy, Our Lady Queen of Peace and St. Josaphat.

The SVDP Society of St. Roman is always looking for new volunteers. We meet twice a month for a business meeting

and a spiritual meeting lasting less than an hour.

There are many activities that our SVDP Society does

quietly behind the scenes. There are various collections (Advent Giving Tree) and food drives (Thanksgiving, Lent)

during the year, as well as cooking for our South Side Meal

Ministry every 2nd Friday of the month. We also conduct home visits in our area and assess needs based on

referrals from our Central Office. If you have some extra time and would like to know more about the SVDP Society,

please contact Cameo Gayan at (414) 282-8019.

Thank You again for your continued support.

Peace and Blessings!
