At Catholic Charities, our mission is to provide help and create hope to those in distress. Thanks to the continued generosity of many, like yourselves, we have been able to assist thousands of vulnerable, low-income families and individuals through our various programs; for that support we are immensely grateful.

At the Humanitarian Respite Center, we have aided more than 71,000 refugees and immigrants, from 31 countries, mainly from Central America. As we provide them with a place to rest, a shower, clean clothes, a warm meal, and snacks for their journey, we are restoring human dignity...

We invite you to join us for our 7th Annual Gala, “Hope is in Bloom” on

Friday, April 21, 2017, at the Valencia Event Center. Dora Brown, Senior Vice President of Marketing, IBC Bank, will be honored with The Hope Award 2017 for the extraordinary leadership and generous heart she brings to all she does for Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley.

Funds raised at this year’s gala will benefit the construction of a versatile, multi-purpose building for families and children in dire need of our support.

We are all called to help the less fortunate, as is stated in Acts 20:35:

In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must

help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself

said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’
