Its 102 degrees out today andhas been near that for several daysnow. It seemed to be a good timeto be in air conditioning, we arenot usually in the house in themiddle of the day. Picture takingstarts next week, cooling off to achilly 85 degrees. The cattle lookremarkably good considering theweather.

We just returned from ShorthornJunior Nationals in Grand Island,NE. What a great event! TheCates Farms genetics continue tocompete at a very high level. Isometimes try to imagine one ofour National Shows without the influenceof CF Trump.

I will not be giving you the same old speech about how great thisyear’s sale offering is. I will just ask you to check the track record ofthe cattle we have sold over the years and the results they havegiven our new owners. This year’s offering will be what you havecome to expect when you come here.

Once again thanks to our families, staff, and all of you who taketime to visit us. The hours put in and scarifies made are trulyappreciated.

We have been doing this a long time and it’s not always easy.There are definite highs and lows. Many of us talk about the greatpeople in this breed, and rightfully so. We have been so veryfortunate to have had the pleasure of getting to know and work withso many wonderful families. 1A - POLLED. This will be the second year that the Modoc Margie’s haveled off the sale and deservingly so. 211 is the spitting image of AutumnRobison’s Margie that was so successful this past year. She possesses the same,functional, deep bodied look. I am confident in the predictability of theMargies, and I see fame in this female’s future.

1B - POLLED. This female reminds me a lot of Malinda Taylor’s Margieonly Modoc Margie roan. She is so good in her angles, and sound in hermovement. She has the potential to duplicate that female’s performance, both inthe show ring and in production.
