Deer Hunting at Catarosa Ranch

Catarosa Ranch is built around the idea of pro-

viding a full-service whitetail hunting vacation.

We manage only for whitetails. On our ranch, you

won’t find exotic animals, cattle, or game that is

not native to Texas. We do one thing and one thing

only; we hunt mature trophy whitetail deer.

At Catarosa, we hunt primarily from tower and

ground blinds strategically located throughout

the ranch. Overlooking food plots, travel corri-

dors, and other areas of heavy game movement,

our blinds put you in prime locations where you

will have optimal opportunities to encounter a

trophy buck. In addition to hunting from stra-

tegically placed blinds, we use a variety of other

hunting techniques to put you on one of the

Golden Triangle’s legendary bucks, including

classic spot and stalk hunting and rattling.

We offer two hunting packages for hunters seeking a quality hunt at competitive prices.

Ranch Hunt: Our base package provides an opportu-nity to harvest a mature whitetail at least 4 1/2 years old and with up to 140 inches of Boone and Crocket gross antler mass.

Platinum Ranch Hunt: The platinum package expands on the Ranch Hunt and offers hunters an oppor-tunity to target exceptional whitetails grossing 160 inches or more under the Boone and Crocket system. With our “one price” policy, hunters may have the opportunity to hunt deer that exceed 160 inches and can even approach 200 inches of antler mass—with no additional fees or penalties!

Game and Ranch Management

Good stewardship of the land is a key factor in the success of Catarosa Ranch. To offer an exception-

al deer hunting experience, we have dedicated the ranch exclusively to whitetail hunting. Catarosa doesn’t operate as a cattle ranch, farm, or vacation resort, and we don’t hunt exotic or nonnative big game. We specialize in trophy-class whitetails, and we are committed to making your hunting experi-ence enjoyable, successful, and unforgettable.

As part of the Texas Managed Lands Deer Per-mit Program, we have extensive control over the management of the whitetails living on our ranch. We practice strict quality-deer-management tech-niques to maintain a population of trophy-class whitetails. Much of the daily activity at the ranch is focused on improving habitat and other game management activities such as tending food plots and irrigation systems. All these efforts are hand-somely rewarded by the quantity and quality of the bucks our guests see on the property.

At Catarosa Ranch, we practice predator and hog control to help maintain a healthy balance on the property. Trapping, hunting, and culling of these animals are done year round. A primary focus at the ranch is to maintain this balance in order to provide our guests with trophy whitetails of out-standing quality.
